Great Family Home! Hot Tub! Huge Deck! 7 Miles from Downtown Nederland & Private

We stayed at the Totem Lodge for two weeks over our son’s school winter break. We absolutely loved it. First the hosts are spectacular. Friendly, responsive, helpful, just plain all around good people. They gave us recommendations on where to go hiking, eat,…….Anything I needed they responded right away. We loved sitting in the hot tub enjoying the amazing views. The cabin sits perched on the side of a mountain slope and you just can’t ask for a better site. It backs the National Forest and yes there are a few neighbors but you really feel like you’re all alone up in the mountains. So quiet, nothing but the sounds of nature and the occasional sound of the engines of the trains 🚂 chugging along down in the valley below. This really is an amazing property. We enjoyed the close proximity to Nederland. Boulder was a scenic 40 minute drive away. Don’t worry about the driveway. You’ll be fine. You’re in the mountains now! A big big thank you to our hosts. Thank you for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us. It will forever be a found memory of a wonderful family trip to beautiful Colorado.

Really love this house. It has easy access to hiking and beautiful views. Definitely need a AWD or 4WD especially for the drive way. David is a awesome host and quickly responded to any inquiries that arose

Views were amazing! Spent many mornings and evenings out on the back porch watching sunsets/rise as well as just enjoying the views with loved ones. I would recommended AWD or 4WD all year round (not just during winters) as it is hard to get up that hill without. Definitely needs some updating (minor repairs with flooring and painting of walls) also the very first step up to the main door is loose so please be careful. The screens in a few windows did not fit properly allowing for nats and flies to come in, so making sure the screens are updated and fit properly would be great and maybe adding a sliding screen door to the back sliding door to allow for more mountain air into the cabin while keeping out bugs! A couple more fans placed in closets for just in case use as it does get pretty warm inside. We could not find the spa vacuum so if that could be placed in a closet that is easily accessible that would be great as well. Overall we loved the decreased amount of technology. I believe we maybe turned on the tv 2 times for maybe 15-30 minutes during our entire stay! The cabin has wonderful views and the windows allow for so much light and great sights! Lots of places/comfortable furniture for sitting! Great dining room table space and a kitchen table surrounded by windows with amazing views! Felt very comfortable while still staying grounded in the mountains!!! Thank you so much!

Our rating of this property is impacted by the address being incorrect whic seems like such an easy correction. The listing description and photos were an accurate portrayal of the property. Luckily, I had read a past review months prior about confusion in finding the home ... so when the address on VRBO did not match the signage up to the house, i recalled there being something strange...we made it to the correct home and tried the lockbox code. The limited communication stated the address as 22 Farrell when the directional arrows up the hill (mentioned in the arrival info) had 24 Farrell. The home is aged and could use some refreshing and repairs. One of the downstairs bedrooms did make our daughter uncomfortable at night due to no window covering.
