About this house rental
Immediately after purchasing this home in early 2016 we initiated a large renovation including painting the entire home, new lighting, new appliances, increased square footage, new floors throughout the entire house, new decks, tree removal and landscaping.
If you are looking for an elite rental property on the most amazing lake anywhere on the east coast then you have found it!

Some have agreed to consider discounts and dockside pick up for our guests. Head out to reel in fish for fun, dinner, or even to mount on your wall! Some of the best fishing on the lake can even be done by boat or from our docks in the cove! Fishing rods provided.
Misc: owner's personal guide to enjoying your stay at SML--everything from the best skiing/wakeboarding coves to waterfront dining and restaurant reviews to wineries to tourist/vacation activities! We had an amazing stay at the second wind lake house! The views and atmosphere were simply amazing! The house was super clean and well maintained. They even had a ton of cooking supplies, dishes and toiletries that lasted the entire weekend. My only complaint was that none of the bedrooms had televisions which made it difficult if you weren’t sleepy right away! The internet connection wasn’t that great either but overall I would definitely visit again!

Spent the week of July 4th at the house and had a great experience. We had 3 generations and 16 total people including 7 kids. The house was a perfect fit for our needs. The listing is accurate and the house looked just like the pics. The house is very well equipped, especially in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable. It’s the first house we’ve stayed at in the last 5 years that didn’t get bed complaints. The host is very responsive and helpful. AC in house works great as well, even in 95 degree heat. The lake is amazing and the house is so close to the mountains. The water is so clear it feels tropical.
The dock is great. It’s not brand new by any means but it functioned perfectly and our group received zero splinters and zero slips. We’ve had both on docks that have been more recently updated/painted and really appreciate how well this dock worked out. I tied my 27’ boat up all week and had no issues. The slide and diving board were big hits as well. There’s a red switch to turn water on for the slide.
There’s plenty of parking. Our 5 vehicles plus my trailer fit just fine. Turning the trailer around was a bit of a challenge but, in fairness, it always is.
No house is perfect but this was our favorite one of the 5 we’ve stayed at with this group.

Easy access to lake with large deck (not the steep accesses so many have). Our 9th family gathering on SML and the 5th different location - and now the family favorite. While not "luxury" it felt like home and had plenty spaces and comfort.
The "4 bedroom / Sleeps 8" listing is far from accurate. The details show 7 BRms (accurate) and easily slept 16.

We were a party of 12 adults each having different cleanliness requirements and expectations. Some of us have higher standards for cleanliness than others but all of us believed that this house needed some TLC , minor maintenance repairs, and an owner who demanded more of her cleaning crew or was more aware of the less than stellar cleaning job currently being done. Having said that, the house is a great home with big rooms for gathering and beautiful views from the home and from the outside decks and docks. A very peaceful environment. The rental binder was never found during our stay and so we had to contact the owner many times for answers to questions that would typically be in that binder. She did respond eventually but not as fast as my past experiences would indicate.
