Balsam Lake - South Bay Getaway

This quaint summer cottage is situated on gorgeous Balsam Lake. It is available to rent from June to September. Balsam Lake is an ideal destination for those who want to get away from the city. This serene location is only 1 ½ hrs. from Toronto. Plenty of lawn and deck space surround this cottage which makes it fun for all ages and occasions. From ball games and a sandy shoreline for swimming to evenings around the fire pit eating marshmallows to al fresco meals and kayaking to enjoying a quiet read in the morning. There’s room for everyone. With provincial parks, Fenelon Falls (Tim Horton’s and Sobeys), Bobcaygeon and local golf courses, there is something for all ages to enjoy.
The lake is beautifully clear and is great for swimming. Water shoes are strongly recommended. The bay is very quiet, wonderful for water sports and the cottage is situated so that you can enjoy the sunset every evening. It is shallow at the shoreline gradually deepening and is around 3 ft at the end of the dock. A public boat launch is available in Rosedale, a short 10 minute drive, and the boat can be moored at the cottage dock. The cottage interior offers spacious bedrooms (1 king, 1bunk made up of 1 double and 1 twin, and 1 double) with all amenities to accommodate a large family or a group of friends. There is a spacious living room. The cottage includes air-conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a gas BBQ and a pair of kayaks to enjoy the lake. Take your beer or glass of wine to the waterfront, only a few feet away, and enjoy the sunset.
The water comes from our well. There is a water softener and a UV light filtration system. Most guests prefer to drink bottled water. However, the tap water is safe and can be used for cooking, making coffee, and showering.
Guests are responsible to bring their own linens and towels for their stay.
