About this cottage rental
This family lakefront property has been in the Stanton family for four generations. The original log cabin was replaced in the early 1980s by an architect designed spacious house that can comfortably hold a crowd or be intimate enough for a small group. It is situated on a large lakefront lot on the eastern shore of North Lake Leelanau with private woods to the south and deck overlooking the lake. The sunsets are breathtaking. This house provides easy access to the water with a long pier and unique recreational dock with boat lift. Boat launch is just 1/2 a mile down the road from the house. We also enjoy the only private marina on the lake so guests can easily dock their boats, ski-dos or a pontoon boat (available for rental in Lake Leelanau). The lakefront area is safe and easy for swimming and the water is crystal clear. There is no sandy beach at our site, but Nedow's Beach is reachable by boat right across the lake. Sunny rear patio is great for windy days and is off the kitchen for easy outdoor cooking. There is a fire pit for lakefront campfires.

And two great bunk rooms with eight twin beds total and a full bath.
LARGE lake viewing living/dining room with seating for lots of people inside, not including all the outside areas for BBQ. The sunsets from the house are unimaginable.
The house is set up with quiet and social zones so kids and adults can enjoy the house and not be on top of each other. The Lake House is a one of a kind place that is rarely available for rental. You'll love it. We do.

We had a fabulous week in this beautiful house. It's much bigger than the pictures show. The bunk rooms are in a separate wing with the pool table room so we adults actually had some quiet time. The kitchen is small but we survived and helped the local economy by eating out a lot. Do wish it wasn't a double bed. We moved one of the bunk mattresses to the floor to accommodate an adult. The decks and views are just beautiful. There are 3 full bathrooms which is not clear in the listing.

This is a great cottage for a large group. It is like having two separate wings. This lets us put kids down for naps in a completely quiet space. The owner responds quickly to questions and makes sure the issues are resolved. Large outdoor area as well. Very quiet neighborhood. And of course the lake is spectacular.

We can't say enough to really describe our stay at this house on Lake Leelanau. The house and the grounds are much larger than they appear in the photos. The house has several fire places and is perfect for warm or cold whether. The lake is excellent for sporting and is beautiful (I live on a lake) and the house has more than what you would expect of a vacation rental.
We stayed in the Spring and once in the Winter. We recommended the house to two different groups of friends who later reserved and loved the house, as well.
The area is a very interesting and historic part of Michigan and we love the orchards. But you won't want to spend much time away from the lake.
