About this house rental

In this spacious mountain home, you will feel super relaxed and comfortable while vacation in Lake Tahoe. The home is just a few minutes walk from heavenly ski lift! Drive 5 to 6 Minutes to Heavenly Village, restaurants, beaches and casino and 3 minutes to the Wholefoods market.

The house has high beam ceiling, living/dinning room look to the expensive sun drenched deck in the back. You can relax in your private hot tub after a day at the ski slope or a day at the beach.

Private 6-7 person hot tub. High speed internet/Wifi, Flat screen TV with blu-ray DVD player, Netflix.

Sleeping arrangement:
1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, new Sofa bed sleeps 2. Rollaway beds.

The property is aging and in need of several repairs and maintenance. Downstairs bathroom toilet badly stained . Water service work being done during the stay (which was not disclosed) left us waterless 1st morning of our stay. Be careful on the wooden decks you may get splinters. We did .

We had a wonderful ski trip to Heavenly, largely due to the quality of the housing. The layout of the home was very good, we never felt crowded in the split-level layout, and the neighborhood was excellent. Walking distance to the California lift for very fit people if carrying all ski equipment, not really possible for the young or old. Communication with the host was excellent, and nothing was lacking in amenities. Hot tub was perfectly maintained, and the bedding and kitchen exceeded expectations. We would absolutely be willing to visit this listing again, as the surroundings were quiet and beautiful, and the housing was relaxing and fun.

Host was super responsive and accommodating. Being walking distance to the Heavenly California lifts saved us from dealing with the difficult parking situation with Heavenly. Parking there can fill up before the lifts even open!

Property is an uphill walk 5-7 min (probably not do-able with small cchildren but fine for teens and up) to Heavenly resort (California base) and a 3 min drive into South Lake Tahoe. Host is very responsive and courteous. There are plenty of beds and bedrooms and space to spread out. The hot tub is excellent and the kitchen is a good size, and ghe garage offers space for gear. The hill can get icy if it dumps snow (not the owner's fault) so if you are driving in, ensure you come from the bottom of the hill. Overall had a great experience. We had 8 mid 30-year-olds and we were more than fine walking to the mountain each morning.

Overall my extended family of 8 really enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable for all of us, and well-equipped with everything we needed (plenty of kitchen items and supplies, towels, bedding, snow shovels and sleds, games, plenty of hot water). It was clean overall though in need of several minor repairs. We did have trouble using the emergency number to contact the owner following snowfall to learn about help with snow removal, and had some difficulty navigating the steep road and access to the driveway during snowy weather. Otherwise location was great as we could walk to the Cal Lodge for skiing and Himmel Haus for dinner, and my kids especially enjoyed playing on the deck and warming up by the fire!

I booked the cabin for a holiday retreat with my grown children and their SOs. We were delayed in arriving due to road closures from storms, but our host, Kayleen, was very accommodating and was able to shift our dates so we could maximize the time we had. The layout of the cabin is great, we felt we had plenty of space. It is walking distance to the lifts at Heavenly, making it very convenient for getting on the mountain. While it appears that the cabin hasn't been updated in a while, it was clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

There are a few not so great reviews that in the beginning made me thing twice. We booked it, we stayed here, and we loved it! Location was great, we got snowed in with the storm so played in the wonderful big backyard area. Hot tub was nice, house was accommodating. Host was very responsive. Great stay! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. My only recommendation would be to possibly clean the hot tub soon, but that’s all i can say other than great house great hosts and a great stay!

Hi, the furniture was bare bones. Internet was suspect throughout the trip. There were a couple rodents (Mice) that decided to hang out with us for the weekend. Light switches definitely need a lot of upgrading.

This property is accurately described, for the most part, you have to go upstairs to access the main living area, and there is no gas barbecue only charcoal which is not allowed in the summer. It is badly in need of maintenance and a new couch. The deck and hot tub are very nice. Plenty of room for 6-8 people. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels (no washcloths), and plenty of toilet paper. The kitchen has plenty of plates glassware cooking implements (no large Fry pans, only deep wok style) coffee maker etc. the cupboards are full, there is no where to put any food or snacks other than in the refrigerator. Well the property is dog friendly there is nowhere for them to be outside other than on the deck there is a electric fence on the steps as you leave the gate to go into the back property. So be prepared to walk your dogs in order for them to go potty. We had one major problem and that was that when we arrived we had no hot water, so I left numerous voice messages on the owners phone which listed in the email for urgent matters I also called the local contact for emergencies and she said that she was the maid and couldn’t help us. So we had no hot water and the owners reply the following day was that we needed to have VRBO find us a new place. We had moved in all of our food and all of our clothing and everything you need for three families with kids so we weren’t about to want to find a new place. After the VRBO people got involved she did get a plumber out and it was an easy fix and she did agree to compensate us a bit for the inconvenience. So it ended well but the owner was not easy to deal with and I felt as though she was being very unreasonable.

Great house in a better location was perfect for our guys weekend! The house itself was a little dated which was not a factor for 8 dudes, but is worth making mention of. The deck would definitely be one of the highlights of the house. The proximity to everything in South Lake is exactly why we booked it, just a short drive from lake/casinos and walking distance to Heavenly. The owner was easy and very responsive throughout the process. I would absolutely stay again!

Great location, well stocked cabin/house, spacious for family, great jacuzzi, bbq and deck area. Inside was not clean and smelled like stinky feet. Carpet dirty, toilet paper holders missing, I didn’t want to sit on the couch(it really should be replaced) it felt unsanitary, the upstairs bedroom on the right side( the mattress should be replaced. It is not good for sleeping in, dips hugely in the middle the mattress pad helped a little but overall not good. The host was really great! I would go back if the place was cleaned up a bit. I’d you are a clean sanitary person you may not feel comfortable staying there.

The property is in a fantastic location if you're here for the skiing, just minutes fro the California base of Heavenly. I enjoyed the quiet back yard and deck. Would not rush to rebook this listing. The property and furnishing are extremely dated and it definitely needs a refresh. Little things were annoying such as the sheets in the master were badly stained and kind of gross and when i requested some replacements got a response that said it was just chlorine stains or something. The couch in the living room was broken and a couple of the cushions were badly sagging. There was a live electric fence on the back porch that is incredibly dangerous if you have kids or pets. The second day I got there the toilet backed up and overflowed. The house didn't have a plunger and it took hours to get a response and then the landlord charged me $200 for coming out to fix it and clean up which I thought was ridiculous. As an ST Rental owner my self I was very disappointed with the quality and responsiveness for this price point One of the worst stays I've had on VRBO.

The best thing about the house is it's location. It's just perfect. Super close to Heavenly, very convenient if you ski with kids. The second best thing is a beautiful spacious deck with a hot tub. the rest is very basic. The house is big, clean enough and good for families, but old and barely furnished. You have everything you need, though. The kitchen is ancient, but well stocked. We were happy to find an electric kettle, salt, sugar, oil etc. It was a nice stay.

Overall, it was a lovely stay. The atmostphere inside the house was very welcoming and relaxing. Pros: Location was great Linens are clean Kitchen and living room all cleaned. The patio outside was great Jacuzzi is clean and very very relaxing. Cons: Carpet has stains The couch is kind of worn out because when you sit on it you can feel the metal (which can be really painful when you sit right away or are not aware) There are no TV on each room which is somewhat ok because we all gathered in the living room but still would've been great if there was. Overall, the house was fantastic and it was a great stay! Kayleen was really responsive with our questions and she was helpful when we needed her. She's a great host! Thank you and stay safe!

Kayleen is a superhost in terms of communication, experience, clarity, check-in process and service-mind. Kayleen was super accommodating when me and my partner rented her cabin for a 4-night stay. The house itself is located in a wonderful location with nature literally outside the window. The terrace with the Jacuzzi and BBQ is a fantastic place to cook some bbq, sit down and relax and enjoy the nature. Overall a great experience, the only minor thing worth mentioning is that you shouldn't expect a top-modern cabin because the furniture is not brand new or anything like that, but you definitely get a fantastic location and host in return. Thanks Kayleen for a great stay!

Perfect for Skiing!

Communications with Kayleen were quick and easy and she super accommodating to myself and my group. The house is a 15-20 minute walk up hill to the Cal Lodge at Heavenly and we were able to ski almost the entire way home on the side of the road. The hot tub was perfect for the 6 of us and a very nice way of ending a long day of skiing. Only thing that would’ve been nice would be some firewood for the house as the fireplace seemed functional. Shoutout to Kayleen for being a great host.
