About this house rental
Spectacular 180 degree view of the Mighty Mississippi! Enjoy sipping a cup of coffee from the deck or in the kitchen nook watching the river meander by. Quiet neighborhood, located in between Ft. Madison and Keokuk. Historic Navoo, Illinois is just 1.5 mi. across the river or 20 minutes away by car along a beautiful scenic route!! Awesome place to relax, refresh and enjoy the beauty of the river valley.
Fishing poles are available to wet a line and see what the river may give up for your next dinner.
One thing very interesting to do is watching the barges lock through at Keokuk.
No matter what time of year there is always natures beauty around.. Spring brings migrating waterfowl going north, sometimes there will be many hundreds of thousands of Snow geese. Summer still waterfowl but with babies, the Purple Martins are around. Fall-migrating waterfowl going south with the colors of the changing trees. Winter-when the river freezes eagles will ride ice flows down the main channel and there are usually hundreds of eagles below the locks and dams.
We have 3 kayaks, inner tubes, and a12' john boat. Life preservers

Great location, nice area, house set up well. It just needs a little updating, I've stayed there before and its all great......time to upgrade a bit

Does anyone clean this house? This house was not clean when i got there! When we arrived the house smells like mildew. The garbage can had trash in it. When we went to put food in the fridge. There was a fridge full of bottle and jar condiments,butter, eggs . Some of which is expired. Same with the freezer, the frozen pizza is expired. Also there was pizza crust setup or big tortilla shells left in the oven! All the beds were made except for the backroom with the ac. There was no sheets or pillows. When we went looking for them, we found the sheets in the wash still. And smells horrible. And next to the wash was a basket full of towels. In which we ran out of. Other than those complaints. The house was great. We all had a great time. Parking was perfect for us. And the house had everything we needed for 6 men. I would absolutely rent this house again provided someone was up keeping the house. Thanks again Unique Bassmasters

The property was very clean. Everyone listed going out on the boats, but the water was too low for us to easily get our 7 year old into a boat from the shore. We plan to come back every year for the rodeo. However, we would never stay here again due to their rules regarding linens. The policy says to strip the bed, wash the linens and remake the beds and this will be condition your security deposit. This seems like a threat. We stripped all the beds and took linens to washer and started washer. We still received a call from the owner regarding the linens we used and how much work it was to wash them. I think the owner should wash the linens themselves to make sure they are clean. This encourages people to just remake the beds with dirty linens for the next guest.
