South Beach Favorite Landmark Home, Walking Distance To The Beach And Downtown.

We absolutely loved our stay. There were three bedrooms and a full bath upstairs, which was excellent for our family. (We did find we needed to use the fans provided on warm July nights.) There are two sitting areas and two eating areas on the main floor, so lots of room to spread out, plus a half bath. The washer and dryer on the lower level were of high quality, and the extra shower on the lower level was useful. We also utilized the bikes, beach chairs, and lawn games in the garage - a handy bonus! Perhaps best of all though was the location. We walked every day to the beach and to downtown. The neighborhood is very pleasant. We could also walk to the Kids’ Corner playground, which was impressive and well kept. The owner was extremely responsive to any questions throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

We were feeling cooped up and claustrophobic dealing with working / schooling from home due to covid, so we rented this home for a change of scenery. It did the trick. My two kids and I spent most of our week in South Haven inside the house, working and attending online school. The wifi was strong. Ours wasn't an ideal vacation, but that has everything to do with the times, and nothing to do with the house.The house is a delight. Charming, sprawling, decorated with intense and thoughtful detail in an aquatic, "blue mind" theme. Location is on a quiet residential street a few blocks from the beach. The bedrooms are calming. Beds and sheets are high quality. The kitchen is well-stocked with quality appliances, plateware and glasses. We cooked most of our meals. Regrettably there are no locally-owned groceries in the area, so we were forced to pick between Meier, Walmart and Aldi.There are tons of board games, puzzles, books and other media to keep your group busy. Like everything else about this property, the owners go way beyond what you find in most rental homes.The owners use a cleaning service, so there's no onerous cleaning chore list to complete before leaving. Our visit was in October, so we didn't swim in Lake Michigan. We did take the short walk to the beach every night to watch the sunset. We biked around the neighborhood and on local trails. This house would be perfect for a warm weather vacation. Lake Michigan beaches have all the benefits of ocean beaches, without the jellyfish, red tide, sea lice and sharks.South Haven has typical resort town restaurants and shops, but we did not frequent many. Too many Michiganders aggressively flout covid-19 guidelines. Many shop and restaurant owners, employees and patrons do not wear masks. Black River Books, a used book store near the house, was great about covid protocols, as were Kilwin's and Golden Brown Bakery on Phoenix. Most restaurants, however, packed 'em in at 100%, violating Michigan's 50% capacity order. If you take covid-19 seriously, please don't be scared off by my comments. You can load up on groceries and do your own cooking. The beaches and trails offer safe activities. There are lots of boat rentals available in the summer. I'm just letting you know what to expect from the indigenous population.Final note, if you seek Michigan's world-class agricultural products, check out Breedsville, a short drive away.
