About this house rental
Captain's Choice is a 5 bedroom, 3 bath OCEANFRONT duplex with over 2100 square feet of living space that sleeps 14 people. The kitchen was completely remodeled in the fall of 2017 and there is new furniture in the living area and lots of new furnishings throughout the rest of the house. The main level has a fully equipped kitchen with all brand new appliances in 2017, a granite topped eat-in island that can seat 4 people, a living/dining area with all new furniture in 2017, and a queen sized bedroom with full bath that was remodeled in 2018. The second floor has 3 king sized bedrooms, 2 of which are oceanfront with decks, and 2 full sized baths, both of which were remodeled in 2019. The third floor is a perfect retreat for the children featuring 4 single beds and a queen sized bed and is equipped with lots of toys and games. New mattresses were purchased for all beds in 2019. New flooring was installed in 2023 and the entire interior was repainted in 2023. The duplex has free WIFI, 6 cable TVs, charcoal built-in grill, DVD players, beach furniture and toys, and hot/cold enclosed outdoor shower. Beach games include bocce ball, corn hole, volleyball, and a water table for the little ones. There is plenty of room to play and rest on the wide spacious beach that is only a very short walk from the house. Duplex is very private with its own separate walkway to the beach. The decking areas are all newly renovated to meet current code standards.
Please note that Captain's Choice is rented by the week during the months of April through October from Sunday to Sunday. For the months of November through March, a minimum stay of four nights is required.
PLEASE NOTE: I require a signed rental agreement for each rental to include the mailing address of the tenant. House access information will not be released if I do not have a signed rental agreement in my file.

If you're looking for a great house in a great location along the beach, look no further. It's far enough removed from the built-up parts of the island that it was quiet and not at all crowded, but close enough to everything to be convenient. We woke up to the sounds of the surf and watched dolphins swim along the shore from the deck. The house is easily large enough for a good-sized group without being too large. It was clean and had everything we needed for the stay. All in all, an excellent place to spend Christmas or any other time of the year.

My family and I had such a wonderful and fun Thanksgiving vacation in Emerald Isle, NC. The home was so warm and cozy—truly the perfect layout for a family of all ages. Also, we tried out the recommended spots, Flipperz and The Sweet Spot, and they were absolutely delicious! I completely understand now why Sue is a Premier Host. She truly thought of every little detail, and it made our stay feel effortless.

This was the best house we’ve ever rented! Our adult children and their significant others joined us and we were all happy with king sized beds and our own baths. The owner is very thoughtful as the house is well stocked with everything imaginable from the kitchen, to beach chairs and games. You’ll have a great time at Captain’s Choice!

We were excited to vacation on emerald isle. We arrived and the cleaners had not shown up to clean the place. We contacted the owner after a few tries reached her and she said she would pay to put us in a hotel for the night and the cleaning could possibly be done by 2:00 the next day. that was not satisfactory to us because of the covid environment that the world is in today not to mention the fact that we were paying money to be beachfront not in a hotel. So we took all of our food and all of our clothing the five hours drive back home and picked up our dogs that we had paid $500 to kennel for the week. I think the property has a lot of potential there are a few maintenance issues that we noticed and I think I did read another review where other people had shown up and the cleaning had not been done. There owner apologized and was sincere, however More attention needs to be paid towards the cleanliness and timeliness of this rental because people are traveling far whether driving or flying and when you pay money to rent a place you expect it to be clean when you show up. Each party in a rental agreement has their part to do. We did get a full refund.
