Second Wind cottage is a real home away from often comment that staying here is like visiting friends.
Great care is taken by the owners to ensure the comfort of every guest. The cottage is perfect for a couple, or a couple with a small child.
It has an open, airy floor plan with lots of windows and two sliding glass doors leading to decks that overlook the canal, a very well-equipped kitchen, and many small touches that help make your stay more pleasurable. We pride ourselves on offering a clean, comfortable, and well maintained cottage.
If you've never been to Ocracoke, you're in for a treat. It's one of the most unique places many will have the chance to visit. With 13 miles of pristine beach, it's no wonder it's been voted in the top ten beaches year after year. It's not hard to fall in love with the easy going, laid back lifestyle.
If you're in the mood to stay busy, there's lots to do from inshore and offshore fishing with native guides, biking, raking your own clams, kayaking and parasailing to shopping and trying one of the many great restaurants on the island.
If you're more into relaxing, kick back on the porch in one of our locally made Adirondack chairs and watch egrets, ducks and otters off the back deck, or chill out with a book or movie from the house.
If you have been here before, there's always a few new places to check out and a chance to rediscover why you came to Ocracoke in the first place.

This was our second year staying at this lovely cottage and we have already booked it again for the same time next year. The location is great, the cottage is well equipped and perfect for us. Communication was great and Steph is an amazing host.

Nice place but you need to be under 6 foot or dodge tree limbs when coming or going. Sliding door screen kept falling out of its track. On a busy street on a curve with blind driveway entrance. Other than theses few things it is a very nice place to stay.
