Experience of a private ryokan - this is the place! Since 1930s it is super clean, modern facilities and meticulously thoughtful place for our family with children. Even the corners and room surfaces were free of dust... toilet had zero stains or dust. Hospitality was first class. Maki was awesome and her mum a great cook! With their heritage of being inn keepers for generations it is no wonder they score perfect 10.

The location was excellent! It was right next to the start of the Togakushi 5 Shrines hike/walk, and had parking included. The traditional Ryokan building was meticulously cared for and very clean. It had several rooms we could choose from to sleep in and we had the whole place to ourselves! There were also two onsen baths! We stayed for two nights so we got to use both. And the water pressure was amazing. The building smelled so good, it had so many beautiful paintings and decor. Really felt like we got to experience a true heritage building.
There was nothing I didn’t like. It was fabulous.

The Ryukan is truly amazing and unique. Has been in the family for century’s and it’s so existing to stay in such authentic places. Our host Mika was the happiest and friendlyest person ever. We had the whole place for ourselves (two people). Lovely biiig rooms. The food cooked by Mika and her mom was truly fantastic and delish. Thanks a million for the great hospitality.

We had a truly wonderful stay. The dinner and breakfast were both exceptional, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Maki-san went above and beyond to cater to our needs, making us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable throughout our visit. She is the epitome of a great host and her warmth and attention to detail made our experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for a top-notch traditional Japanese experience!
