About this house rental

Welcome to The Lodge, a charming waterfront cottage located on the serene and picturesque Lake Damariscotta, in the quaint town of Newcastle, Maine (less than 5 miles to the town of Damariscotta) . This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, with a large loft home offers stunning views of the lake and is the perfect retreat for a peaceful and relaxing vacation.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a large living room with comfortable seating and huge windows that showcase the breathtaking lakefront. Not to mention the beautiful wood-burning fireplace! The fully equipped kitchen provides everything you need to prepare delicious meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table or on the outdoor patio overlooking the water.

For the more adventuresome, bring a boat for sailing, waterskiing, or just a cruise up and down this 12 mile long lake. Our place is at the narrow end, a mile above the dam that separates the lake from the Damariscotta River and offers low boat traffic, great fishing, and a dock location where you can enter and exit the lake in about 7-8 feet of water. Come enjoy this piece of paradise offering kayaks, SUPs, a canoe, private dock, and float you can swim to. Oh, and don't forget those cool Maine evenings where you can enjoy a blanket mid-summer! If that's not enough for you, the quaint town of Damariscotta is only 5 miles away and offers boutique shopping, great restaurant options, a full service grocery store and a place or two to grab a cocktail!

Well appointed house with all the comforts of home. Beautiful living area with a gorgeous fireplace. Kitchen was stocked with anything needed to cook.We found it different from other rentals where you were required to bring your own sheets and towels, but if you know this in advance it's not a problem. We found the bedrooms beautifully furnished wirh log furniture. Beds were very comfortable, however, we found the rooms to have limited light sources. We depended upon flashlights to clearly see into our suitcases etc.The lake is a short walk down a steep hill where you can sit on a dock, swim, fish or just listen to the Loons!Overall...we would definitely rent this home again. The owner communicated well and answered any question or concern we had....a real gentleman.

Wouldn’t change a thing. Wonderful property, great lake toys, amenities were plentiful, communication the best, so convenient to town & restaurants and a concert by the loons every night. Hope to return many times. Thanks Chap for everything (including the dental recommendation)

It felt like being at the best summer camp ever, but with loved ones!! A large rustic cabin right on the lake. Our favorite things were the screened porch, the trampoline in the lake, the outdoor shower, fishing from the canoes, and the long wooded drive, great for jogging. Chap, the host, was beyond generous with information and support, for which we are grateful. The location is perfect. We hiked Acadia, took a boat trip out to Monhegan Island, visited picturesque Camden, putt putt golf, on and on. While the rest of the country was roasting, we were cool and enjoying heavenly Maine. We can’t wait to come back! A million thanks for our now beautiful memories. 🙏

We had a wonderful time. The kids loved the lake and all the activities. The home is beautiful and has all the amenities you could ever want. Couldn't be happier. We can't wait to go back!
