Shippen Cottage - Perfect for Couples or Families

We were moved to Cider cottage as Shippen was double booked. The property was nice and comfy and everything you could need was supplied. The location was great for exploring the local area.

We found the property too close to others and felt a little on top of each other, especially if you’re looking for peace and quiet and not everyone is going for the same reason as you. It was however a very nice place and great for the dogs.

Good location. Nice setting. Comfy beds.

Some areas need updating. Chairs in kitchen need replacing. Kitchen was freezing. A bit impersonal as didn’t meet the hosts and not even a tea bag to welcome us.

Keys were in the door as explained by the host, cottage was cosy in a lovely location. It was just like home.

On arrival we had a couple of questions but there wasn't anyone available to ask

There was not complimentary anything. We paid to get away for a BREAK and a REST. I being disabled and my daughter pregnant We didn’t expect to have to carry out room service duties of stripping beds which included heavy covers and many pillow cases. Especially when it isn’t a budget holiday. It’s a farm so you expect to see spiders and bugs, but not dead flies on the beds, and dusty spider webs. My daughter carries a UV light which I advise anyone else to do when staying in accommodation, as it shows the lack of hygiene and cleanliness so you can clean or avoid. Thankfully we alway take cleaning products
