About this house rental

In the heart of the Langhe, a UNESCO heritage site, you will find this charming little house in the medieval center of Castino, near the castle. Entirely restored maintaining the historical characteristics. The private garden offers several suggestive fresh and sunny spaces. You can enjoy the famous wines al fresco, prepare a tasty barbecue, or simply relax in the sun. On the first floor you will find a modern kitchen, a romantic fireplace near the ancient dining table, a comfortable sofa bed and direct access to the garden. On the second floor you will be amazed by the historic furnishings. Beautiful double bed, modern bathroom with shower, sunny terrace overlooking the walls of the ancient church. A two minute walk from the center of Castino, you will find a grocery store, one with fresh pasta and local gastronomic specialties, two bars, a tobacconist, a typical restaurant and a renowned pizzeria. Twenty minutes from Alba, the capital of the White Truffle and ten minutes from Cortemilia, the capital of Piedmont hazelnuts. In about half an hour you can reach the lands of the famous Barolo.

Mariangela’s lovely home became our home away from home quickly and easily. It was warm, inviting and so peaceful. The perfect final leg of our trip. The community of Castino was delightful. The people were friendly and welcoming. We were the only strangers in town yet we felt right at home. The apartment was clean and well appointed. And Roberta was delightful, greeted us warmly, and helped us with our every need. Mariangela and Roberta communicated with us promptly when we had questions or needs. Thank you so much for a delightful week.We look forward to returning.

Great property in a cute village! Easy access to vineyards and Alba. We spent three weeks, using this as our home away from home. It was the perfect place to relax (it was so quiet!) and the garden was fantastic! The location in Alta Lange was perfect. It was rather warm in Alba, but perfect when we went “home”. Roberta and Mariangela were amazing hosts, and a pleasure to work with!

Wonderful stay! The apartment has been so well restored and was decorated so wonderful. Even in the middle of winter it was beautiful and cozy. And the host was amazing as well. Hope to go back some day!

Mariangela and Roberta are wonderful hosts of this adorable, well stocked apartment. We spent six nights here and enjoyed the beautiful garden and all it offered, including the BBQ! Morning coffees on the balcony before we ventured out to explore the area are one of our favourite memories of our time in Castino.

We had a great stay, the house was lovely and so well equipped - it had everything we needed and a few extras touches from Mariangela and Roberta. Thank you for the wine and Pasta, it made our first night so easy after a long drive. Communication was excellent and such a warm welcome and great recommendations from Roberta. This small house is a real gem. We have spent several holidays in similar houses but this is exceptionally well equipped with everything one might need to cook (incl. salt, sugar, olive oil etc). Upon our arrival on a Sunday there was a Prosecco in the fridge and all the ingredients for a pasta with sauce! Simply incredible! In the garden there is also a Weber grill for barbecue! The hosts Roberta and Mariangela are extremely friendly, helpful and always available. Castino is very quiet so one can easily relax in the wonderful garden or explore Piemont, its food and of course its wines! We will certainly come back in the future!

Roberta en Mariangela reserved us a warm welcome upon arrival with flowers, pasta, sauce, typical biscuits from the area. The communication with Roberta was excellent before and during our stay in Castino. (we arrived much later than foreseen due to traffic problems). The house was very clean and the comfort of the bed was exemplary. In the house you find everything you need in order to live comfortably. There are a lot of brochures about the area. The quality of the wifi network is perfect. The garden is also very nice. Our hosts tried to help us , responded quickly to our questions and supported us in finding truffels. Needless to say that this is the area of Barolo and Barbera wines. So if you like a good glass of wine you are in the right place. The village is very quiet; something we really appreciate. For us a AAA+ vacation. Thank you Roberta and Mariangela for heaving us, we really enjoyed our stay. We intend to come back. All the best. Annick & Guido

Wonderfully restored property in old part of Castino…. Beautifully presented with everything that you need to stay for 1 day to many more! Added bonus of a secret garden for your personal use with table & chairs plus sun loungers. Communication with the owners was perfect and they were very helpful on places to visit & eat in the area. Spent 3 nights here , walking and visiting the truffle festival in Alba (worth a visit if on!) . We can definitely recommend this property and hope to be back as there is so much to see and do in the area! Thank you so much!

Situated in a quiet medieval village, this cozy, comfortable place offered us a much needed respite. Everything you need and more was provided by our kind, thoughtful hosts. We asked for tour suggestions, which they promptly provided; information and recommendations were perfect for us. We were met with a warm greeting and given a quick tour of the place. Our family of 3 (2 adults and 17 YO son), stayed in this beautiful little house mid-July for 2 nights. The house is thoughtfully and beautifully renovated and located on a quiet street in a beautiful little village that is a perfect jumping off point for exploring this area. The backyard is a paradise of tranquility and beauty. The owners were the warmest, most charming people you could imagine. We definitely hope to be back one day. We spent 10 wonderful days in the very beautiful house of Mariangela and Roberta - everything was perfetto for us!!! The house was very tidy & clean, everything exactly as on the photos (even better) - and the garden is a highlight on top! We loved the garden for breakfast and relaxing in the late afternoon (and also for a glass of wine in the evening). The house is great for 2 people, the kitchen has everything you need and there is a huge fridge! The kitchen and the bedroom goes out to a balcony, from the kitchen balcony you go directly into the garden - The house is in a small street in Castino - a little village south of Alba. Parking is not a problem - there is a free parking only a few metres away. There are many hiking trails, nearby winerys and good restaurants. We got very good recommendations from Roberta for Restaurants/Trattorias and Osterias - we loved all of them. All the nice spots are near (Alba, Barolo, Asti and many little villages worth going) If you need a day break on the beach - it is only a 1,5 h drive to the Ligurian coast - Roberta and Mariangela are great hosts - very helpful and the communication was very good. We definitely would like to come back

Sehr schön eingerichtet, stilvol und persönlich, gut heizbar, gut ausgestattet, wunderbar geschmacksvoll eingerichteter Garten, schöne Lage in einem kleinen alten Dorf, herrliche Stille. Es ist schon ein bisschen weiter weg von grösseren Ausflugszielen, aber das Wohnen hier war dermassen wunderbar, dass man doch hin soll.

Had a lovely winter holiday! Villa was absolutely beautiful, warm, clean and tidy. Every corner was full of wonderful details and garden was absolutely stunning. Die Kommunikation vor unserem Urlaub verlief völlig ohne Probleme. Die Schlüsselübergabe war trotz Sprachbarriere sehr nett und herzlich. Wir wurden mit Blumen auf dem Tisch, Feuer im Kaminofen, Keksen und Lebensmitteln für ein erstes Abendessen empfangen. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Eine so gut ausgestattete Küche habe ich noch nie in einer Ferienwohnung angetroffen. Wir hatten trotz teilweise sehr schlechtem Wetter wunderbar entspannte Tage! Ich würde sofort wieder buchen!

Wir haben sechs Tage wunderbare Tage in dem renovierten Häuschen von Roberta und Mariangela verbracht. Das Haus ist mit alten Möbeln nett eingerichtet und die Küche besonders gut ausgestattet, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Wir konnten die Sonne auf den zwei rückwärtigen Balkonen geniessen und haben im kleinen Garten mit vielen blühenden Büschen und vielen Blumen gegrillt. Vom Haus aus sind viele Wanderungen möglich und nette Dörchen laden zum Besuch ein. Ein Aufenthalt im L'Ibisco de Gautier ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Es hat alles bestens und sehr unkompliziert geklappt (Check-in und Check-out) und wir wurden herzlich in Empfang genommen. Die Wohnung mit Terrassen und Garten ist einfach nur wunderbar! Es fehlte an nichts. Im Gegenteil: wir waren noch nie in einer so gut ausgestatteten Ferienwohnung. Auch die Umgebung hat sehr viel zu bieten. Herzlichen Dank für alles, Mariangela und Roberta. Wir können das Ibisco di Gautier allen wärmstens empfehlen und kommen bei Gelegenheit gerne wieder!

Das wundervolle Häuschen vespricht, ja übertrifft die Angaben und Bilder aus dem Netz. Alles ist blitzeblank sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es fehlt an nichts. Die Küche ist mit wirklich allem ausgestattet. Wäsche hat es in der Küche, im Bad und zum Schlafen genug. Es ist sehr ruhig gelegen und der Innenhof, zur alleinigen Nutzung, ist ein Traum. Die beiden Vermieterinnen, die Schwestern Mariangela und Roberta, sind so frezndlich und unglaublich fürsorglich und hilfsbereit. Mariangela ist für die Einrichtung und den Garten zuständig, Roberta kümmert sich um das Wohl der Gäste vor Ort. Grazie Mille per tutto!

Nicht nur das kleine Ferienhaus ist sehr gechmackvoll und nett eingerichtet... Ein besonderes Lob gilt den Vermieterinnen (insbesondere Roberta), die sich ganz toll um ihre Gäste kümmern und nahezu alles möglich machen. Castino ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt, um das Piemont zu erkunden. Vor Ort findet man alles was man braucht: Alimentari für den täglichen Einkauf, Pasta fresca, die weit über die Ortsgrenzen hinaus bekannt ist, eine ganz tolle Pizzaria, zusätzlich eine Trattoiria und natürlich ganz viele Haselnusshaine.... Vielen Dank nochmals für den tollen und erholsamen Aufenthalt

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in Mariangelas entzückendem Haus verbracht. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, der Garten ist wie ein kleines Paradies. Von Castino aus haben wir sehr schöne Touren mit den Rennrädern unternommen. Abends konnten wir im Dorf an der Bar den Aperitivo nehmen und entweder in das sehr gute Restaurant oder in die ebenfalls ausgezeichnete Pizzeria gehen. Mariangela ist eine sehr herzliche und unkomplizierte Vermieterin. Grazie mille, era una settimana perfetta. Monika

We intensively enjoyed our relaxing stay at this beautiful house and enchanting medieval surrounding. The interior has been modernized with a lot of care yet keeping the charming old atmosphere. The small romantic garden and patio next to the castle wall offered sunny and shaded sitting areas. Perfect for outdoor dining and reading. The owner gave us many helpful recommendations about the region, restaurants and sightseeing. Small shops and restaurants were in walking distance. We will definitely come back to further explore this wonderful region. Thanks to our lovely host!!!
