About this house rental

This charming beach bungalow was built in 1942 and it resides in a soulful tropical yard in the best neighborhood of Encinitas. City permit number: RNTL-007058-2016. The yard and home speak of relaxation but the ocean beckons. The living and dining areas are open and accommodate a family gathering comfortably. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed with closet and plenty of storage. There is also a third bdrm. with a comfy queen sleeper sofa.

The remodeled galley kitchen is a chef's dream with granite counters, stainless appliances, six burner gas stove and complete drawer of spices for gourmets. The dining area seats 8 comfortably and a trifold door opens onto the deck overlooking a large tropical yard which is incorporated into the living area. There is a BBQ and outdoor shower on the side patio, and off street parking is on the rear of property The property is shared with the constant gardener and hubby who live in the cottage at the back of the large yard, they are the owners and very friendly and helpful if needed.

Perfect older home charm with modern updates. This property had everything you could possibly need. Very well maintained property and the hosts Wendy and Paul are very welcoming. Quiet neighborhood and close to the beach. Landscaping made you feel like you are in your own oasis. Absolutely beautiful. Very happy with our choice of vacation property.

The house is a bit older than I anticipated, and hosts are closer to the house than I realized. Wendy and Paul are wonderful though and put out everything we needed for the kids. She even had ducks in the fountain and scooters for them to play on. They were friendly, but also gave us privacy. I was a little concerned about our noise from kids inside as I could hear us well from outside. Off street parking wasn’t obvious, but is available from the back. It was easier to park on the street. The neighborhood is beautiful and so close to both stone steps beach and moonlight. We walked many times. It was nice to feel surrounded by locals instead of just tourists. The yard was gorgeous and the kids enjoyed playing in it. It wasn’t completely fenced off like I thought, meaning the toddler could get out and made us extra cautious. The home is cozy, linens and towels were clean and comfortable. We had some cleanliness issues that could have been better, but informed Wendy and sounds like will be resolved. There were also ants in the kitchen if there were any crumbs. The house is a bit cluttered, but does have anything you might need. Overall, we really enjoyed the area and our stay.

We had the best time staying at Wendy’ bungalows. It is a 3min walk to Stone Steps beach and in a lovely quiet residential street. The house is very homely, spotlessly clean and very well stocked with all the bits and pieces you often miss in a rental. Wendy was a great host and was available when needed for advice and super flexible with a couple of additional requests. The garden is very spacious for this part of the world and a tranquil haven to chill out or take an outdoor shower after a dip in the ocean. We will be back!

The house felt like home. Anything and everything we needed was right there in the home. The owners and the house were warm and welcoming. We were in town for only four nights visiting family with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Wish we had more time to enjoy the grounds of the house. It had beautiful flowers and trees; perfectly charming. The house was situated within short walking distance of two access points to the Pacific and to downtown Encinitas. This was the best experience we have had with an out-of-town rental. Wendy and Paul are wonderful.

We were here for the birth of our first granddaughter and the house could not have been more perfect. Wendy and Paul have outfitted their home with everything you could possible need, definitely check in before you hit the grocery store. The basic items provided were incredibly generous. They live just behind the property so if you need anything at all, they are right there. It really felt like we were staying with family. And the location (to bury the lead) is perfect, steps from stone steps, a short walk to moonlight and beacons, made for a storybook visit. We will absolutely return!

We had a fantastic 4 days at this beautiful craftsman house. This was our first trip to the area and we will certainly go back. Wendy and Paul were wonderful hosts. The house was perfect for the 4 of us. The garden is beautiful and the beach is only one block away. There are quite a few steps down to the beach, but it is well worth it.

Wendy and Paul’s cottage was the perfect beach getaway. In addition to the 5 minute beach walk, loved the easy walks to restaurants, coffee shops, massages and more. Book this place. The owner is on property- living in the bar house- and is incredibly thoughtful and accommodating. Well equipped for kids. Read the details of what is included before you pack. Especially for kids stuff. We walked to ice cream, 3 beaches and a playground. Location can’t be beat.

This property is exactly as described! The location is perfect in very walkable area. The house is well maintained and has everything a family needs. The backyard garden is gorgeous! There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee shops, and bars within a short distance. You can walk to the moonlight beach access in a few minutes. It's also close to the touristy places like the SD Zoo and Legoland. Finally, Wendy and Paul are superb hosts! They provided us with plenty of recommendations in the area and we're quick to answer questions when we had them. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

This is a very special place. Three bedrooms, so lots of room; offers so many details- a few yoga mats if you want one, a selection of beach towels, a tray for if you want breakfast in bed, boogie board or two, bbq cookout grill-- all including a lovely private yard with lush,exotic plants and an outdoor table. This was a lovely home, very well-stocked. We were a couple with our adult son. We didn't need the third bedroom for sleeping, so the sofa bed was closed and made a wonderful second sitting area, in addition to the living room. There were two lovely outdoor seating areas, and there was additional seating in the front of the house. Wendy was kind enough to stop by on our first morning; she was warm and helpful with tips about our stay. There were just two drawbacks to the home: 1. The shower in the main bathroom was not usable, because the showerhead had been installed too low (perhaps it could be replaced with a handheld showerhead), and 2. the dryer was very weak and required multiple cycles. But overall, I'm giving it five stars, because it was a very nice home.

We loved this house. It was perfect for our family of four. The house was clean and was one of the best supplied properties we’ve ever stayed at. The yard/garden were beautiful and we loved sitting on the deck with our coffee listening to the birds. Wendy was a wonderful host. She was welcoming and very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. The location of the house is great. It’s in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood. We could walk to the beach and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Wendy and Paul’s property was perfect for our family of four. Pictures and descriptions were exactly as described in the listing. We had no issues during our stay and were comfortable knowing they were both on site and responded quickly to text/phone if anything did come up. This beautiful Craftsman home has the charm and coziness for those seeking a beach retreat with plenty of small town charm. Walking distance to dining, coffee shops and the beach made the location ideal. The gorgeous dining room extends into the patio via a large bi-fold glass door. Our family thoroughly enjoyed dining el fresco with the warm weather and ocean breeze. Our host, Wendy, provides a well stocked kitchen for those who love to cook on vacation also. Thank you for providing such a warm welcome to our family. We shall see you again!

Wendy and Paul have done an amazing job with this rental. They have such a cozy rental home and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. They have nice cookware, comfortable beds, it's very clean, big yard, and in a nice neighborhood. We will defiantly be going back! Best rental in my history of renting :)
