Riverbend Retreat is a hidden waterfront vacation gem offering a place to unplug on the Georgia coast. Surrounded by history, boating, biking, birding, fishing, kayaking, and screensaver-worthy sunsets. Riverbend Retreat is on a peninsula covered by majestic live oaks draped with Spanish moss.
This spacious, 2-story, pet-friendly waterfront home has amazing views from the screened-in back porch, large deck, and the back of the house. Regardless of high or low tide, your boat will sit atop deep water with a short dock only steps from the house. No boat? No problem! Or dock is known for being one of the best fishing spots in the county. The floating dock includes fold-down aluminum stairs, making access in and out of the water easy for anyone, including a pet. The stationary dock has lighting and a fish cleaning station, with water and electricity.
You will quickly find that "elbow room" is no problem due to an open and spacious floor plan. The main living area is upstairs, accessible by the stairs or chair lift. The upstairs consists of the kitchen, dining room, living room, a half bath, and the main bedroom. For the culinarian(s) of the group, feel free to work some magic in a kitchen that includes the tools needed for cooking, an Electrolux double convection oven, and a Jenn-Air gas cooktop/grill, perfect for preparing your catch of the day. The dining room table provides eight seats, with three additional seats at the counter.
After dinner, get cozy in the family room on one of our oversized couches in front of a fireplace and a smart flat-screen television. You can also choose from a large selection of board games to play on our 4-seat game table. If you want to be more active go downstairs for a friendly game of ping pong, billiards or fuse ball.
The main bedroom upstairs is very large and includes a sitting area with two recliners, a fireplace, and a large smart flat-screened TV. The king-sized bed is adjustable by a remote which raises the head. In addition, there is a sleeper sofa, a desk, and a small library of books for the readers in your group. Downstairs is a full bathroom connecting two large bedrooms, with each bedroom having an in-room vanity. One of the bedrooms has an adjustable king bed and the other has two twin beds, a bunk bed with a twin and queen bed.
To enjoy the river, there are four single-person kayaks, one 2-person kayak, and a lightweight canoe. Only minutes away from Riverbend Retreat is a marina with a lift and boat ramp where you can fuel up and purchase bait.
Convenient to I-95, Savannah, Brunswick, and Jacksonville, Riverbend Retreat is ideally located and provides all that you need for relaxation, recreation, and making memories with your loved ones that will last a lifetime.

Spacious home and very clean. No detail was left undone. The Irwin’s were great and very helpful. The beauty and nature of Tolomato Island is breathtaking! We enjoyed catching fish, bird watching, kayaking and riding bikes. The beds were amazing as well!!!

My wife and I, along with our dog Oz, search out a spot to explore for vacation usually twice a year. We typically bring our boat, as we love the water. Having visited several areas on the east coast as well as the gulf coast, we have seen and enjoyed a wide variety of unique stays. With out a doubt, our stay here was tops in every aspect. The home, the location on the water, and the small town of Darien were all perfect for us and our dog. The owner went up and above to insure we had a remarkable stay. The home was amazingly clean, unbelievably stocked with everything, and the neighborhood is breathtaking and super quiet. There is not enough I can say about our 8 night stay, but I do know that I will make plans to go back. There is nothing that the owners have overlooked in making their home a perfect place for your relaxing vacation. We can’t thank them enough!Tim,Brenda & Oz
