Baymond Hotel

We loved this hotel after a complete disaster with another. The booking Group solved our issues and the result was a great stay in Beymond. It’s away from the noise and bustling main streets but easily walkable along the beach. The Hotel and staff are fabulous. Our only comments are that room service and bar close at 9pm and pool facilities on the roof spot on 10pm. We were out on trips on both days arriving after the 9pm. But I did get a 15 minute swim in on day 2. It’s a great hotel - our room was a beach view delux.

We had a pretty good stay at the Baymond Hotel. We had two rooms and were travelling with my family with two young kids and my parents. I had contacted the hotel months in advance and also a month in advance asking for rooms to be next to or close to each other. Upon arrival, they said that our rooms would be on separate floors for one night and then the same floor the remaining nights. Not ideal but they were apologetic so it was okay and they honoured it the next day. Upon getting to our room, I noticed that the lights in our bathroom were very very dim. I compared with my parents’ and their room was fine and no lightbulbs were out in our bathroom so I just think maybe it’s inconsistent? I didn’t want to complain. Then my daughter dropped something under the bed and this is where it gets gross. I don’t think they ever clean under the bed. A microfibre mop and then a wet mop would have done the job as there’s lots of space and it was wood flooring. I went to grab her toy and it was covered in dust. There was actually someone’s credit card, an old used spoon, part of a ballon, a hair roller, among a few other small things. All of these things were within my arms reach. As we were leaving the hotel the next day for the day, I handed the front desk the credit card I had found and left the rest (I didn’t want to touch them) and told the front desk under our bed was really dirty and had a lot of things there. They apologized and said that when they come clean our room, they’ll make sure it’s swept/mopped. I was very happy about this. However, when we got back, our room had been cleaned but under the bed was still full of garbage. They didn’t touch under the bed :( other than the cleanliness, we loved the rest of the hotel. We had buffet breakfast there almost every morning (20,000 won per person) and the kids LOVED the pool. Be aware that all kids who can’t touch the bottom of the pool must wear life jackets, even if they can swim. My kids didn’t mind, and the life jackets are clean and nice. Everyone we encountered working there was LOVELY and polite. We had issues in both rooms with keys not working at one point because there was some sort of electrical issue in the building at one point at night where we didn’t have power or wifi, but I know that isn’t intentional and it was resolved in under 2 hours. It would have been nice to get a small voucher like a buy one get one free for breakfast or something as it was out around 7:30pm-10pm and with no access to our room with two kids and bedtime, it wasn’t ideal. I just have to say that the staff were very nice, the rooms look nice, the pool was beautiful, I just wish they cleaned under the bed!

The rooms are good, rooftop pool nice, but looses a few stars to to too many rules and poor service at the rooftop. The guy working at the pool is super stressed, not very friendly and has a lot of rules like; you are not allowed to put the umbrellas up and down by yourself, they have a waiting system for sun beds, but the pool guy seems to favour locals so for some weird reason it’s never your turn. Location is good, but that would be the case for most hotels in the area as everything is close to the beach. Buffet breakfast was ok for the price (but another weird rule where the price is different if you book the night before and the final price seems to depend on who’s receiving your reservation).

I don’t recommend this for families with young kids. They charge you 30,000 won (20usd) per child, per night. Yes it may be hotel policy but we’ve travelled a lot and this is the first time we’ve been charged for our 4 yr old and 6 yr old. Not even extra bed or extra towels were given. Rooms are small and bathroom is also too tight. You cannot see anything from your windows since it has a frosted/privacy film because its too near to the building beside it. Not good for claustrophobic people. We find the price too expensive, it feels like a budget hotel but price are at par with 4 star hotels. They didn’t even have lotion and other basic toiletries like toothbrush.
