About this house rental
Located within the National Nature Reserve of Laguna de Apoyo. This stunning lakefront home is located just 200 meters from Norome Resort/Villas @ Apoyo (on paved roadway) and is built to U.S. standards. Relax in the infinity pool while enjoying the view of the dormant volcano Mambacho or take a swim in the lake where you will find hot thermals nearby. There are 2 kayaks available for use during your stay. As an added option, we can arrange on-site massage onsite. This is truly a private vacation oasis with over an acre of professionally landscaped grounds of natural flora, lawn and gardens! Casa de Sol allows you the ultimate in privacy and relaxation...Easy access by bricked roads, Gated entry with 24 hour security.
Upstairs is a master suite with king size bed, custom raindrop shower. The other 4 bedrooms are “Jack & Jill” configurations (2 bedrooms w/bath in middle). All bedrooms enjoy private balconies, a/c and hot water. The home includes bath towels, soaps, hot water and high quality linens.
Downstairs there is a modern kitchen with gas stove and oven, island of hardwood, refrigerator/freezer, filtered water and all utensils. Also for cooking is a large gas grill outside. Please note: we do not provide food/groceries but you can order meals delivered from a local restaurant.
The large custom dinner table w/chairs seats 10 people. There is a ½ bath in the living room area and ½ bath poolside.
Daily maid service is included with optional laundry service (fee for laundry), Our bi-lingual property manager is available to assist you with any other details to ensure a fabulous experience. In preparation for your visit, we can assist with a map and driving instructions, car/van and driver, tour guide, outdoor excursions and any other guidance you require.
High speed wireless network (we have our own tower) and TV is included.
Separate A/C units are in each bedroom. Due to extremly high cost of electricity, the price includes A/C use from 10pm to 7am. If you desire additional A/C service, there will be a charge of $20 per day.
There is a casita also located on the property that is occupied at times with shared driveway access. If the owners are there during your stay they will take great caution to honor your privacy.
Additional Considerations: The property is located at the bottom of a crater lake so the property is sloped and there are plenty of stairs. The main living area is accessible for wheelchairs but not bedrooms, pool, etc. The pool is deep and does not have a shallow area. The lake is accessible by stairs. Depending on the time of year, there will not be a beach.
Rates vary during holidays.

The house was perfect and the stay was amazing. Our hosts helped us with our trip and we had a fun day at the neighboring beach club when we wanted to venture away from our pool. Highly recommend for a family vacation!!

Beautiful w/beautiful view! Not kid or older people friendly, inside &outside stairs mainly. Pool is NOT for children/some adults. The many stairs to the public lake are rocky as the entry into the lake! No beach! Constant workers around the house. The casa directly in view of master bedroom has workers. Guard shack is in view of the master bathroom. We all felt exposed! Kept curtains upstairs closed which defeated, the view! As stated in a 2023 review, the staff definitely watches you! Its not feeling of privacy but monitoring! Also, a dog that poops in the yard.
The owner: very responsive. Gave great suggestions. BUT when character/ethics was to be shown, she was HORRIBLE! My 7y/o wet the bed. Tamera emailed she wouldn't charge me. She understood it was an accident. There were other things (glass, vase, etc) we did break. throughout the 8 days she email me let me know what we broke & the price! No problem! The white couch ($54 charge) I disagreed! Morning of departure, I Zelled her $204 for the agreed damage! She put a dispute into VRBO for over $100 Double the cost of the couch! She wanted the cleaning of the mattress and other damaged items. I showed VRBO AND MY BANK the emails of her saying she would not charge for the mattress AND the 2 different stories she told me(all email) how the damage to the couch was done! Her $100+ was declined! I have a good reputation with VRBO & hosts! Many stays & NEVER this experience! Honesty is not her best policy!!!!!
