Great single-family home for get-togethers at the beach! Short walk to the ocean approximately 1800 feet. Newly renovated, amazing kitchen, bathroom, and flooring! Originally, a two-bedroom flat roof cottage the "Kneas Family Cottage" has evolved into the perfect beach vacation location for families hosting five bedrooms and 3 full baths, one-half bath + an outside shower. With a beautiful deck overlooking a large grassy lot, it is walking distance (1800 feet) to the beach, you may also drive and park at the 5th street beach access. Short walk to the Sound, and shopping making it the ideal affordable rental home for large families.
The first-floor living area and newly renovated kitchen are a large open "L" shaped area with plenty of seating for dining, TV, reading area, and gaming. Two bedrooms and one and a half baths are located on the first floor. One of these bedrooms is ideal for children as it hosts 2 full-size beds and three singles. There is also an outside shower to use when returning from the beach. On the second floor, the cozy living area with TV opens to the sun deck. Two of the bedrooms (one queen and one full) are off the second living area with one full bathroom. The third bedroom (queen bed) and bath (master)is separated from the living area for more privacy. The house and deck were smaller than expected. The upstairs "kitchen" could use some work - it's just a sink and lots of cabinets. A small fridge and microwave would be great. A keychain for the keys would be helpful - also think about extending the porch - if the key falls, it's gone! The owner was responsive about the coffee maker not working. The overhead lighting in the kitchen and dining room is harsh fluorescent lights that could be changed. The counter top ice maker was a helpful addition! Advertised beach access includes crossing a major highway - not very conducive when you have a bunch of stuff and kids. We did find a free parking lot a few minutes away that worked for us. Overall the house worked for the nine of use, was just not quite as advertised.
