About this house rental
Beautiful new home, 3 bedrooms 2 baths, large outside sitting terrace overlooking large salt water pool and beautiful yard with large grassy area to play and enjoy. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Completely private grounds, home is located within gated community, easy walk to the town of atenas where you will enjoy quaint restaurants, bank, and all services.
The house allows you a view of the beautiful mountains and surrounding area during the day and beautiful twinkling lights at night. This can be viewed from our roomy outside terrace or from the inside living area with large windows. The outside terrace is furnished with very comfortable costa rican rocking chairs and foot rests, there are pool chaises and an umbrella by the pool as well as a grill..
The inside is very comfortable with ample seating in the living area where you can watch tv or watch movies on the blue ray player.. Or get online with our fast speed internet connection. Eating area next to kitchen with nice table for 6.
Kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, cooking utensils and all necessary items to make your stay very comfortable.
Master bedroom looks over the yard and pool, comfortable king size bed and large master bathroom with jetted large tub, shower, double sinks, vanity area, etc.
Second bedroom has a queen size bed, third bedroom has two twin beds. There is a second bathroom with shower shared by these two bedrooms.
Atenas is known for its fantastic weather and its location is ideal for exploring costa rica.
Easy day trips include but are not limited to: jaco beach and other beaches in the central pacific area, poas volcano, la paz waterfalls, doka coffee plantation, san jose, el toledo cafetal, and many, many more..
We are 20 minutes away from the international airport and close to highway 27.
On fridays dont forget to go to the farmers market for organic produce and delicious pastries.
Or just seat by the salt water pool (it wont dry your skin and will leave you refreshed and not smelling of chlorine!) count how many varieties of birds you have seen that day and let yourself relax while enjoying a beautiful sunset!

We had an excellent stay. First time at this house. Great accomodations. We did not see our host or hostess, although we had excellent communication via email, phone and Whatsapp.

Villa Bonilla is a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The pool is wonderful, kitchen appliances and kitchen ware make it easy to prepare meals, comfortable beds, and conveniently locate. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Villa Bonilla
My husband and I stayed at Villa Bonilla for 3 weeks in February 2024. Let me first say that the place far exceeded our expectations. We chose this vrbo based on the listing description and photos and we were already excited about our visit. But once we arrived and stepped into the house and walked around the grounds, we thought it was more beautiful than the listing pictures showed.
As advertised, the weather in Atenas is perfect. Sunny and hot every day. No humidity. The covered outdoor patio makes it an ideal spot to hang out all day long. We saw many birds from the patio: keel-billed toucans, grey hawks, parakeet, hummingbirds including the rufus tailed, blue-gray tanager, great-tailed grackle, social flycatcher, chachalaca, great kiskadee, hoffman’s woodpecker, clay-coloured robin (Costa Rica’s national bird). It was great having a pool, which is maintained and cleaned weekly.
Our host, Maria, made the booking and check-in process easy and seamless. Our concierge, Marianna, was helpful and responsive to questions we had. The house is well appointed with comfortable furniture, reliable appliances, and functional kitchen equipment. Plenty of linens and towels, as well. The staff at the front gate were very friendly and helpful.
The location is ideal for planning day trips to the west coast beaches. Atenas is a great little town; we grew quite fond of it. It has many amenities, shops and restaurants.
We wish we had stayed longer.
