This cottage is the ideal place for a quiet, romantic get-a-away in a beautiful country setting that is only a 5-7 minute drive to historic downtown Fredericksburg . The hosts live next door in a home on the same property, for easy communication if needed. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed….from the beautiful fall decor that is everywhere in the house, to the fully stocked kitchen and bathroom with many little extras in case you forgot something, including bathrobes! These hosts go above and beyond any VRBO house we have rented…they provided us with coffee, tea, juices, a basket of snacks and even doggie treats for our pup. This was an added surprise and we greatly appreciated the welcoming touch. They also provide deer food on the back porch, where you can sit to enjoy your morning coffee or dusk wine while feeding the many deer that will visit the back fence….so beautiful. There are also humming birds and many butterflies to enjoy. Inside the cottage, the living room was so inviting and had very comfortable furniture. The king sized bed was perfect for a good night’s rest after a day of sightseeing. The hosts thought of everything ….providing us with many brochures for the area, e-mailing us activities and additional happenings during our stay and even gave us some coupons for a local restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Lynn and Jerry’s cottage.

The stay was great. I did exactly what I had intended to do and that was absolutely nothing. Really enjoyed feeding the deer (corn provided). Just about everything was provided, snacks, some juices, cooking and eating utensils, you name it. The owners were right next door but you really didn’t know it. Great stay, can’t wait to book again.

We had such a delightful time at this wonderful little cottage. The property was clean. Instructions for everything were made clear and easy. We got to wake up and see deer eating 10 feet away from us. And the butterflies flitting around our front as you walk in really gives this cottage a magical touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Lynn and Jerry's ADORABLE home exceeded any expectations we had. From the minute you drive up, you are greeted by hundreds of butterflies and Texas flowers. Entering the cottage, the unique decor which is more than comfortable makes you feel right at home. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would ever need, bathroom is large with fluffy towels and bathrobes. The king size bedroom looks out over the front of the cottage with a view of flowers and butterflies. Nice sized comfortable living room with a TV and beautiful fireplace with a whimsical mantel. Our absolute FAVORITE part of the this house was the covered back porch. In the hot Texas summer the breeze and ceiling fan kept us comfortable. Completely private, we enjoyed our mornings drinking coffee and watching nature wake up. So many hummingbirds came to feed, along with many native birds and of course the deer who walk right up to the fence, ready for their deer corn which is provided by your hosts. The evenings are the best on the porch. We enjoyed a bottle of local Texas wine watching the fireflies and just taking a deep breath. The town offers a lot to do, but believe me, we would have rather stayed in the house the whole time. Lynn and Jerry are terrific hosts. They communicate quickly, have great suggestions and make you feel right at home. This is Texas hospitality at it's finest. We're already planning our next trip!

Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The location is just a few minutes away from Main Street, but on the edge of country. We enjoyed our evening visits from deer, which we were able to feed with corn, provided by our host. The place was well kept, clean and had most everything we needed to cook, eat with and sleep comfortably. If we visit Fredericksburg again, we’ll definitely arrange to stay here.

This small cottage is a must go to if you are looking to relax and enjoy the outdoors, yet close to Main Street if your going to shop or drink some wine. Lynn and Jerry were so kind. They are amazing hosts. Thank you thank you. We will be coming back to sit and drink my coffee and watch the deer, hummingbirds, finches, cardinals, butterflies, and owls. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

Olivia and I truly enjoyed our stay, near to town and far enough out to be truly peaceful. Accommodations are excellent. The Hosts had all things in order. I did think I needed to set my alarm however; the deer were always waiting on me for those little magic yellow pellets at the back porch.

This property is breathtaking! You’re nestled away in a neighborhood that is only about 5 minutes from Main Street, but you feel like you are on your own private land. The deer and wildlife are AMAZING! The deer would come up within 10 feet of us (there’s a fence) and stay for hours! The house is clean, spacious, and so cozy! It’s updated but still has a very neat historical feel to it. The hosts are amazing and so very kind. Would definitely book this again, and several of our friends have asked for the home’s information too. Worth it!

No surprise at all that this property gets all 10 reviews. From the minute we walked in the door we felt at home. Super clean, beautifully decorated, everything we needed for our weekend. The thoughtful hosts even left us a very kind and appropriate anniversary card. There were loads of informational pamphlets on a side table. About dusk the deer showed up like paid performers. We didn’t feed them so they wandered off to look for other hand outs. Same thing the next morning, they lost interest in us since we still didn’t feed them. They were beautiful. The back porch was so restful. Birds, deer and interesting plants The bed was super comfortable and sheets smelled wonderful. The whole weekend was as if we were in a different world even though we live only 70 miles away. We are already trying to think of excuses to get back to Fredericksburg and stay longer at the cottage. Thank you Lynn and Jerry.

We came to Fredericksburg for the first time in order to attend a wedding, as well as 2 additional days of wedding weekend gatherings. We never did cook a meal, but pleasantly surprised at all the treats and coffee provided. We travel often and by car with our dogs, but left them with family for this trip. We usually bring EVERYTHING we could possibly need in rental homes since not all provide for the guests the same. They provide hair and body wash dispensers, as well as first aid, various kitchen condiments and back up for items you may have forgotten.Now to the best part. Coming back between events, meals out and shopping, it was so nice to just relax in the back area of the home. We fed and watched deer, saw a fox and millions of singing birds serenaded us.Thank you Lynn and Jerry for such a clean and peaceful retreat for our trip to Texas!

The Cottage at Spotted Fawn is a perfect delight. Beautiful, safe neighborhood and excellent off-street parking. The house is immaculate, well stocked, and thoughtfully decorated. The responsive hosts have amassed a wealth of material about local history, restaurants, and things to do. The nights are quiet, the bed is comfortable, and there’s no street noise. The outdoor spaces are lovely. Less than 2 miles to the historic downtown. I enjoyed my stay, and would be happy to return and to recommend this place to others. I felt perfectly safe as a solo female traveler.

This cottage was the perfect accommodation for a Fredericksburg stay. It was very close to Main St yet still felt as though you had plenty of quiet countryside space with wildlife. It had special touches that fit the town's heritage and was clean, spacious, and detail oriented with every convenience you would need for a stay.
