About this house rental
Beautiful beachfront home at Sandy Point Shores, close to Bellingham, WA and Vancouver, BC. Sandy Point Shores is a small beachfront community that boasts incredible sunrises over Mt. Baker and sunsets that could mirror those of the Hawaiian islands. With direct seasonaloceanfront access from the house, enjoy sounds and smells from the Puget Sound, passing ships, orca whales, blue heron and bald eagles flying overhead. Relax inside or outside on the large deck which overlooks Sucia, Matia, Patos and Orcas Islands.
The main house offers two bedrooms (one with a king bed, the other a queen bed), a bathroom with a large walk-in shower, kitchen, living and dining room areas. The living room offers a large flat screen TV and plenty of comfortable seating. The house has large windows that overlook the outdoor deck and ocean so you never get to miss the view.
UNAVAILABLE DECEMBER 1, 2026 to END of JANUARY 2027 are the two additional bedrooms (one king one queen beds and a ¾ bath) are located in the detached garage, just steps away from the main house for more privacy for the kids or a second family. Due to the kings tide and flooding each of the last two winters, we've deemed it necessary to shut these rooms down as we are out of area during this time and won't be able to monitor the status of the detached rooms
Enjoy walking up and down the beach, turning over rocks and looking for crabs, two single person kayaks and bicycles as well as a number of day trip activities. Birch Bay, Lynden and Ferndale are all in close proximity for a day trip if you are looking to get out of the house. There are also many farms that you can go to and buy fresh produce, fruit, artisan cheese and fish. Don’t forget your passport as the Canadian Border is also just a short trip away.
This is the perfect destination for a relaxing weekend away from the city.

This kitchen is so well equipped and has some special extras. The view is as amazing as the description claims. The quiet and beauty of sitting on the back deck and enjoying the waves and ocean was great.

The pictures did not do justice to the amazing views this wonderful property provides! Very comfortable accommodations, well supplied kitchen and comfy beds. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property. We were able to further enjoy our daughter’s wedding by having such a great place to stay!

Thank you Dan for sharing your place. All of us loved it. Being right on the water was amazing! The beds and bedding were were super comfy, the kitchen was well stocked, the outdoor furniture was plentiful and in great shape. I would definitely stay here again.

Pros:- Great spot right on the water with a nice bay view.- House was very clean (except for the windows).- Beds and linens very comfortable.- Wifi and cable worked great.- Lots of parking.- Lots of deck chairs and patio chairs, nice big patio table.- Plenty of sitting room within the living room/dining room.Cons: - The house is within sight of a petroleum industrial port so there is constant engine rumbling from the tugboats and tankers that sit out in the Bay. Didn't bother us too much but if you are looking to get away from 24/7 engine rumbling this may not be the spot.- Some amenities listed on vrbo site were not accurate. The BBQ grill was inoperable (we had to purchase a small charcoal grill). There was only 1 bike. Seems these types of things should be checked prior to renters arriving.- Only 1 roll of paper towels for 6 guests for 5 nights. We had to purchase more. We also had to purchase more toilet paper.- Bring your own laundry soap if you intend on washing clothes, as there is none provided. Bring your own all-purpose spray cleaner for the counters and such as there is none provided.- There are security cameras all over the outside of the house. You may be monitored while enjoying the beachfront deck and fire pit. I know we were checked on one of the nights while there.Other notes:- the house has a high sea wall so you will need at least 2 people to get the kayaks down to the water.
