Check-in process pretty quick & smooth. Assigned parking spots are pretty tight, but there is open parking close by, in case you have a large rental car. Inside dining room table has only 4 chairs, so if a party of 6 (like us), not enough seating. We paid for party of 6, but not enough toilet paper for more than 3 days. Apparently they only supply a starter kit. There is a good size grocery store very close to unit, and prices reasonable.All decor is extremely outdated, and definitely too much of it on the walls. Inside fake plants have a huge layer of dust in them.Downstairs king bed is comfortable, but downstairs twin beds are hard as rock. Master-bath hairdryers have issues. Purple hair dryer only works if partially plugged in. The other hair dryer actually sparked and threw out a piece of its ceramic inside when attempting to use. A big fire hazard. There is a toothbrush holder in master bath that is very dirty on inside. There is no way to take lid off to clean, so definitely would get rid of it, or store in owners closet.Found a used/dirty washcloth in downstairs hallway bathroom cabinet. Toaster & toaster oven not cleaned out from prior guests.There were 2 beach chairs, 4 camp chairs, 1 operational beach umbrella, 2 pool noodles and some boogie boards in lanai closet.Dryer takes almost 2 hrs to dry 1 load. Suspect dryer vent issue. Fire hazard if that’s the issue.We cannot recommend this condo. View was amazing though.

I can't say enough good things about this condo. The location itself is breathtaking with uninhibited ocean views in all directions with waves crashing on the rocks below. Just sitting on the lanai watching the boats, outriggers, dolphins etc. while listening to the waves was magical. There is always a nice ocean breeze as well making working or sitting on the lanai for hours wonderful. The condo itself is great. Totally clean and well appointed with everything that you will need during your stay. Plenty of cooking gear for meals at home, beach chairs and floats in the closet on lanai, and extra beach towels in the laundry closet if needed. The beds are really comfortable as well. My wife and I were there alone the first week, and were joined by another couple the second week. We never felt crowded or cramped at all as the condo is large. Overall, the condo set up was ideal for our 2 weeks in Kona. Mark, the owner, is also a great guy. He communicates with his guests to make sure that their stay is excellent. We only wish that we could have stayed longer. Highly Highly recommended!!

Everythink that was needed was at this condo. There was everything that was needed at the beach was at the condo, from 3 umbrellas, to at least 4 beach chairs, to 5 beach towels. When I stay, I like right in front of the ocean, this condo provided it, we had great sunsets everynite. I recommend this condo to everyone.

Check in/out was so simple. We loved staying here, close to restaurants, grocery and gas stations. The view from the lanai was stunning anytime of day, especially the sunsets. We saw outrigger canoe groups daily and dolphins every morning. This condo is right on the water, just the right size for group, we will definitely stay here again! Me and my 2 young adults had a great time at Kanaloa 2004. Not sure if I missed it in the details, but the 3d bedroom is actually a loft. Condo had everything we needed plus some leftovers over various things that was nice. The patio view is nearly indescribable.

Spacious condo with room for family of 4 to spread out, beautiful view from the lanai, well appointed kitchen, very clean. Our only issue was that the refrigerator ice maker was not working, which was a little inconvenient, but ultimately not a huge problem.

Spacious condo perfectly situated with a lanai overlooking the sunset and pounding waves. The development is away from the noise, between downtown Kona to the north and Captain Cook attractions like Two Step and Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau to the south. Manta ray snorkeling trips depart from around the corner on Keauhou Bay. I decided to stay here despite one negative review, and I"m happy I did - the dryer vent and jacuzzi problems have been corrected. There is beach equipment in the closet (small cooler, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, water shoes and snorkel gear) and board games to keep you entertained. Plenty of room to spread out or gather in a big group. Super comfy beds including four twin size beds for the kids to have their own. Would stay here again.

Our week was very comfortable staying in this condo! Beautiful, quiet, big and airy is the best description. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. We were glad to find that two baby gates were there to keep our great grandson away from the stairs. The only glitch was the loft bed, two twins pushed together to make a king. It was solved with a topper. Our added bonus was spotting a whale from the deck one morning. Listening to the waves lulled us to sleep at night. A very nice getaway!

This was our first time traveling to Kona HI and we are so thankful we found this condo. We had 4 adults and a 2.5 year old. Very spacious, parking spot, fantastic balcony on top of the ocean. We saw dolphins outside the lanai daily with gorgeous sunset views. Very quiet complex with 3 pools (ocean pool was our favorite). Conveniences and grocery store just up the street. 15 min drive to the downtown Kona area. Weather was impeccable. Very warm but the shady lanai with a fan was very comfortable. Will be staying there again.

To start, we just want to thank the owner, Mark, for being so responsive. The housecleaner was also incredible and was available at check in to quickly wash over the floors for us, which was very kind of her to be available on a Saturday afternoon. Saying that, the unit is very beautiful. The lanai and the view from the lanai was just amazing. We spent a lot of time just relaxing out there. The location is a little away from Kona proper, but for us it was perfect. The complex has three perfect pools, although we spent most of our time at the Ocean pool. Beautifully maintained complex that was very nice to stroll around with our young child. The unit comes very well stocked with all cooking essentials. I read some complaints about the furniture but we didn't have a problem with any of it. The couches made squeaking noises when you sat down, but we felt the decor was perfect for a Hawaiian vacation. Check-in was smooth, and as I wrote earlier, the owner was so responsive throughout it was very nice. We had a very pleasurable stay and would for sure recommend this place to anyone and we are already looking forward to heading back soon. Only thing to note that isn't a negative but we wish it was stated in the description (it may have and we just missed it), is that while this units living area is mostly flat, you do need to walk up a flight of about 20 stairs to enter the unit. We traveled with my father who is 84 so he was able to manage it but it could be difficult for othe

Seemed clean enough. Outdated. Furniture was very uncomfortable. Kitchen counter tops were a little sticky. Jacuzzi tub in Master Bath leaked. Toilet exhaust fan in master bath either had no switch or didn't work if it was interlocked with the light switch in toilet. Guest bath shower valve piped backwards. Hot is cold, cold is hot. Drier does not dry. Drier exhaust was disconnected upon arrival I reconnected it and realized why it was disconnected. Plugged drier vent. This is a fire hazard. Ceiling fans were noisy. A/C was very drafty. Owner was a real jerk and owners' wife was very rude and impatient. Not a nice person. Would not rent again or recommend this place to anyone. Liked the complex but hated the condo.

We stayed at this condo for 9 days and enjoyed our time. The location was perfect, just off the high-tourist area, but close enough to drive to. Watching the waves crash from the deck just cannot be beat. Great sunsets every night. The condo was nice, kitchen is conveniently stocked, bedrooms were comfortable. My only complaint is that the couches are very uncomfortable and could use an update. But all things considered the view from the deck trumps all. The owner was courteous and comms were good. The condo area was nice and our 8 year old loved the pools. Everything was well kept and clean and we had no issues while staying here.

I cannot imagine a better place to stay in the Kona area! The rock formations outside of our lanai could not be beat - I am sure we had the absolute best view on this side of the island. Because of the way the condos are positioned, our lanai felt very private - no other condo had a view of our lanai. For 5 adults, the floorplan was perfect, allowing each of us some privacy but still having ample room for dining together or playing games at night. The master bathroom is HUGE! The location of Konaloa at Kona is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from downtown Kona. At first that seemed like a ways to go every time but after being there, I wouldn't want to stay in the middle of the tourist area. The condo is right next to the Kona Country Club which has to be one of the best golf courses on the island. There are a few beaches nearby and a grocery store less than a mile away. If we ever go back to Kona, I will try to book this condo.

My family enjoyed our stay in this vacation rental. This rental was so spacious for my family of six. The condo had everything that we needed. We enjoyed cooking our family meals while watching the ocean or the sunset. The layout of the condo allows you to watch the sunset and the ocean while you are in the kitchen, dining room or in the living room. We enjoyed relaxing in the lanai while watching the ocean waves crashed on the lava rocks. It was so relaxing and peaceful. We will definitely rent this condo the next time we visit the big island.

Our family loved staying in this property. We loved being able to sit out on the balcony to watch and listen to the waves. It was a super clean rental and was nice to have air conditioning. The property is also in a good location, close to some excellent snorkeling and not too far away from some really nice white, sandy beaches. While not new, there were also boogie boards, beach chairs and a cooler to use that worked great for our family. We would definitely come back. Thanks for letting us use your home!

There is a closet full of beach supplies including many pair of water shoes and snorkel gear, chairs, floats and boogie boards. Very helpful. Very nice condo. It apparently had not had recent visitors since there seemed to be a coating of fine dust over the floors. There also was a lot of very same insects especially in the guest bath. Maybe we should have realized it but was surprised to see the long flight of stairs when we opened the door. Made it difficult for my brother in law with Parkinson’s. View was amazing and pool areas very nice. Great stay.

This is a nice rental with the basics for a condo stay. It has one king bed and four twins. I thought when I booked it listed a second queen/double bed. The view and proximity to activities and necessities is perfect for our wants. Overall, the unit is in good condition. The bathrooms could use a refresh and some cleaning product for the showers would have been nice. Some appropriately placed pest control would also help keep cabinets and drawers a little - shall we say less startling. One thing about all Kanaloa properties to consider is the stairs. This is not an elderly or handicapped friendly property. I’ve stayed here 5 times over the last few years and every unit I have rented has a set of steps to ascend to get to the front door. Even the “ground” floor units. The issue only became obviously apparent and troublesome because my father has recently had problems walking and now uses a cane. Getting up stairs was tricky and painful. Going down was scary. I suspect that if he comes with us again, we will have to find another place to rent.

Mark's place had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The view and sunsets are amazing and the condo property is kept looking beautiful. The grill is right across from the condo outside. It's about 10 minutes to the nearest beach spot with beginner snorkeling (all beaches mostly lava in case you didn't already know so bringwater shoes) and 30 minutes from 2 step (best snorkeling we had, not beginner). My husband loved the firm beds in the condo but I prefer softer. Shower is amazing...all soaps and supplies in condo we wouldnt have had to buy anything even though I had brought toiletries and laundry pods.. AC kept the main areas cool but fans do the rest of the rooms just fine. It was 83-86 while we were there. I have to comment about the girls below us smoking nonstop. It's a strict no smoking property but no one did anything when we complained and they were smoking below us on the balcony...almost 75% of the times we tried to sit on the balcony they would ruin it for us. Except at night they'd be gone most times. Partying? Night shifters? Anyway hope someone addresses that because the lanai is literally amazing.

WOW!!! The pictures of this place are great, but it's so much better in person. The views and sounds of the Pacific are mesmerizing!! We spent a lot of time out of the lanai just relaxing. The condo is very roomy and well appointed. We had everything we needed from shampoo and lotion to beach gear. We didn't use the kitchen much, but you could easily cook anything you desire. The beds were very comfy and the tub in the master bath was a welcome surprise. The grounds at Kanaloa were incredibly beautiful and you could spend your whole vacation here, but it's so convenient to much much more; why would you? We had a very memorable vacation and hope to come back again. Mahalo, Mark for sharing your beautiful home with us

This condo is so close to the ocean that you get to fall asleep while listening to the crashing waves. Mark has also done an outstanding job of stocking this place. There are beach towels, floaties and an ice chest. All items that you would need for a day at the beach. The bathrooms and kitchen were also stocked very nicely. The condo was very comfortable and fit the 4 of us very nicely. There is a grocery store and a Longs Drugs just up the hill and we ate at 3 different restaurants that are all part of the shopping center up the hill. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
