Southwest Harbor, located on the quiet side of MDI, is a welcome alternative to bustling Bar Harbor! A winding driveway leads to a secluded lot surrounded by evergreens. From the back door you can connect with numerous hiking trails which are located in nearby Acadia National Park! Enjoy the visiting wildlife through the wall to wall windows in the living/ dining area. On clear nights, it is the perfect spot for star gazing!!
The first floor open layout includes a fully equipped kitchen, living /dining area, 1 queen bedroom , full bath and laundry. On the second floor you will find a queen bedroom, double bedroom, full bath and loft area with futon. Take in the tranquil scenery of the blueberry field and Beech Mountain as you cook your delicious Maine lobster on the outdoor grill!

This was the perfect home for our stay in Maine. 6 of us were very comfortable. My kids 4 and 7 loved the home. We all enjoyed waking up to mountain views and the deer coming up to the yard. The home and property felt very safe and it was very comfortable. Neighbors were closer than I had imagined but there were still several trees between the homes to make this house feel as if its in a world of its own. My only concern was that when we arrived several windows were unlocked. Again, the house and surrounding community felt very safe but something to stay vigilant of. We loved the home, the local food, the proximity to Acadia and Bar Harbor. I hope to come back and visit again someday, we would definitely choose to stay here again if we do. Thank you to our hosts!

The home was beautiful and a great location! We enjoyed seeing the deer and wild turkeys in the blueberry field. We loved the feeling of being off the beaten path, but still having great hiking paths and restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay here again!

The location is incredible. We loved all the windows looking out on the beautiful countryside. It was a perfect place to stay when visiting Acadia National Park.
