Beautiful property!!

We stayed at the Playhouse Cinema over the July 4th holiday with a total of 4 families. While the cabin was clean, our group was disappointed in some aspects of our stay. Pros: -All spaces and appliances were clean -Location to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood was only a 15-20 minute drive -The newer decorations like lamps, rug, chairs, etc, were a nice touch. -The grill was full of gas. -The main and lower levels of the cabin were nicely cooled. -There were lots of pillows and blankets provided. Cons: -There was no welcome guide in the cabin. When we had questions about the pool, I had to call the 1-800 Eden Crest line and the rep couldn’t answer my question about times. -The outdoor pool was small and water was very cloudy. Also the water fall was not working which resulted in it looking like a swamp. It was also far from our cabin. We would have liked to walk to the pool, but that was not possible given the distance, hills and high temperatures. -The cooking utensils were plastic and poor quality. -The grill ignitor should be replaced as it didn’t work. -The upper level of the cabin was very warm despite being set at the coolest temp possible. -The upper level loft area was much smaller than what was portrayed in the listing. Overall, the cabin met the needs of our group but we probably wouldn’t stay there again. We had thought the property was more of a gated community, staffed resort. This is just our feedback though others may have a different experience

It was really a mixed bag when it came to this rental. The cabin itself was beautiful! Our group was four families of friends and we each had our own space without feeling on top of each other. “Fort Jackson,” the kids’ mini cabin, was our absolute favorite part of this rental - our kids LOVED it! It was the perfect play area where the kids felt like they had a little independence because they could be upstairs without an adult, but we were comfortable because the cabin is in the loft area and we could hear everything they were doing. Here’s the “bad” about the rental - things were broken and the rental company didn’t really apologize or do anything to try to remedy the situation. They weren’t little things either. Our very first night, we went downstairs to enjoy the giant 3D TV (the “cinema” part of “Playhouse Cinema”) and the screen was shattered. It looked like a previous renter had thrown a billiard ball into it. It wasn’t usable. Then the fridge started leaking water all over our food. We realized that if anyone used the water or ice dispenser on the fridge door, water would pour all over the food inside. In both of these situations, I attempted to contact the rental company multiple ways. There is a “Request” link in the renter portal that they send you, but every time I sent something through there, I never received a response. So then I tried to submit something via their main website; again, no response. I finally called the company as soon as they opened, and I am sad to say that I felt like the person I was talking to acted like I was inconveniencing her. The rental company finally sent someone out to look at the TV and fridge and he informed us there wasn’t really anything he could do during our stay. That was the entirety of the response from Eden Crest. We just made the best of the situation and enjoyed the rest of vacation without getting to use one of the biggest amenities of the cabin and without using the ice maker and water dispenser so that our food didn’t float. Overall, great physical cabin, but I wish it were managed by a different company.
