The Lake Escape TOO Cottage: Charming cottage in the heart of the resort community of Geneva on the Lake. Newly remodeled, fully furnished and comfortably appointed, this cozy retreat offers a perfect escape from a hectic world. Enjoy a bit of serenity as you walk along its quiet lane or wander on the adjacent private beach to collect sea glass with your family and friends. Look forward to watching a spectacular sunset from a broad white bench at the waters’ edge. During your stay, you can enjoy the nearby entertainment district for dining, and shopping or just plain fun. For the family, there is plenty to do. Adventure Zone, just one of the many attractions, offers a variety of family fun; go-karts, bumper boats, batting cages, miniature golf and huge arcade that will keep the kids happy for hours…all this within walking distance of the Lake Escape Cottage.
Lake Escape TOO Cottage is a newly remodeled home with tasteful decor, spacious rooms and quaint charm. The screened in porch has room for dining, playing cards or just relaxing in recliners while the cool breeze blows in off the lake. The kitchen includes all new appliances, microwave, crock pot, coffee pot and cooking utensils. There is a washer and dryer for your convenience during your stay. An outdoor propane grill, magazines, books, dvds, beach chairs and children’s games are a few of the additional amenities to help make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. The Lake Escape TOO Cottage is air for the hot summer days and has heat for the coolness of fall.
We are located on the private Mapleton Beach enclave, across from Madsen Donuts and are a block away from Eddie’s Grill. The location is perfect, close to everything, yet on a quiet lane with private beach access. The cottage is available year round; weekly rentals June through August with shorter stays available during the off-season.

The house was clean, nicely furnished and had plenty of room. Comfy beds. The kitchen was very nice as well. Just be sure to bring towels, both kitchen and bath, and hand soap and you will be all set. We loved the screened in porch, it was so relaxing to be able to sit and read during the late afternoon after the beach. We are already planning to come back next year!

It was definitely a cute house and it is right on the strip, right across the street from the lively Sportsters bar(highly recommend the bar but keep this in mind if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful rental) and parking was surprisingly spacious. The beach aspect, there's a perfect spot to sit and see the water but not someplace you would want to swim - more like a lookout spot rather than a beach, it was still enjoyable just not what we expected. The house had some issues with water leaking from the skylight and in the fireplace, we didn't have hot water, some lights and outlets didn't work, some doors were wonky making it difficult to open/close, and the upstairs sleeping area is incredibly hot even with the window unit, cramming 7 people up there would be rough. To be fair I will add there was a rough storm that caused our power to flicker but some of the other issues didn't seem storm related - it's apparent this property get's minimum routine maintenance. The cleanliness was alright, bedding was washed and surfaces were wiped down. Communication with property owners was patchy; VRBO said I was supposed to receive check-in info 3 days prior to my trip and they didn't get back to me until the day before, I had a couple issues that I made them aware of and I was told they'd look into it after we left (leaks, door issues), I messaged about not having hot water and never heard back.
