About this house rental
This basement rental is located in a neighborhood 3 miles from access to Lake Chic and the TN river (Dayton boat dock). Whether you are coming here to fish, visit the court house (and the Scopes Trial Play in July), competing at Ft. Bluff or visiting Bryan College, this house is conveniently located to each place. The driveway is large enough to handle 3 or 4 trucks pulling boats, and the back deck is huge (includes a gas grill). The kitchen is not a full kitchen, but a sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, toaster and coffee maker are included as well as dishes and utensils.
I live upstairs, I am quiet, and park in front of the house so guests have the full driveway and back deck.
Six will sleep comfortably. No smoking indoors and no pets allowed. With more than six (not related) there are additional fees.

positives: Pat was wonderful to communicate with, prompt to reply to messages and very kind. The bedding was clean. The fridge is a good size. The location is beautiful and the amenities were accurate per the listing.
Challenges: before arriving we had requested a dehumidifier in the unit. Pat was quick to assure us she would put one in, and she did. The problem arose when we got there and the dehumidifier was not turned on. The place was *very* musty and gave more than one of us a headache upon arrival. We understand that with humid climate there will be some dampness, this was more than “some”. The lights didn’t all work, so it was dark and hard to utilize the kitchenette. We did reach out to Pat and she said she knew about the lights but hadn’t had time for someone to come in a fix those and other repair needs she was aware of. The space was not very clean (spider webs, spiders, dirty floors, 2 cockroaches..). We were *not* expecting spotless by any means (our own home isn’t spotless) and we also understand a cleaning fee is added to the cost of a stay for a reason. We would kindly encourage a more thorough, detailed cleaning job.
This space worked for the 2 nights we were in the area, though we would not book here again for our family. I want to reiterate that Pat was VERY pleasant to work with, the space itself would benefit from some deeper cleaning, better lighting and a consistent dehumidifier running.
