About this cottage rental
The property is at the heart of the idyllic fisherman village of Tan Thanh on the south end of An Bang Beach. The house is a traditional structure which incorporates local materials and beautiful woodwork. There are two ensuite bedrooms, a living room and kitchen, and a fanned terrace, all set in a tropical garden.
The cottage is in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood:
- 100m from the ocean
- 5 minutes walk to beachside cafes and restaurants
- 15 minutes ride by scooters/bicycles to Hoi An Old Town
- 30 kms to Da Nang Airport
The property feels fresh and peaceful. Ample seatings are provided for you to enjoy a drink, read, or simply relax indoors and outdoors any time. The ocean is 100m away through a small path under rustling pine trees. There are miles of quiet soft sandy beach for your leasure stroll. Cafes and restaurants are within minutes of walk. When you long for old town delights, Hoi An Old Quarter is 15 minutes away on bicycles, along a breezy tree-lined road through pleasant green fields.
GETTING AROUND
Bicycles are the most common mode of transport among guests. Free use of up to 4 adult bicycles and 1 child bicycle can be arranged upon prior request.
Scooters are fast and convenient. Scooter hire can be arranged upon prior request. Rental fee is app. USD7/day. Guests pay directly to the service provider and a deposit may be required.
Taxis: Mai Linh taxis (the green cabs you see around Viet Nam) park at An Bang Crossroads (600m from our place). Grabbing a taxi directly at An Bang Crossroads is faster than calling taxi call centres.
Airport pick-up/delivery by private cars can be arranged upon prior request for USD15-20/trip depending on car size and time of trip. That tends to be cheaper than taxi. Guests pay directly to the driver.

Wonderful stay at a unique home with outdoor space. Kay (host) was very responsive to our needs. She ensured our driver was there at Da Nang airport in spite of a delay. She also arranged a booking for a wonderful dinner down the street late that evening. Bikes were provided which enabled us to ride over to the busier section of An Bang. This was our 2nd visit to A Bang after 12 years and it was as special as the first.

Such a great location, close to the beach, restaurants, spa's and we even rented Motorbikes from the small restaurant across from ZoZo. 10 minute 2.50 "GRAB" ride from the house to old town HOI AN. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to enjoy HOI AN and surrounding area.

This home sits just a short walk from the touristy and night life loaded An Bang beach to the north. It is in a very up and coming area with in my opinion, better beaches than An Bang and small fun coffee shops and restaurants a short walk away. The downside to that is that construction is going on everywhere (in An Bang and this area). We were not negatively impacted with sounds or dust at Kay’s during our stay.
What’s App pinned location was helpful for those trying to find us for tours.
Like many areas in and around Hoi An, there will always be some noise from motorbikes etc. at night but the area is fairly quiet.
Kay was responsive and Ms. De was there if we needed her during our 3 night stay. Nice to having a washing machine.
There is a musty odor to the house which is somewhat expected in an older home in the tropics. Otherwise, can’t fault this house except it’s expensive I think. New small hotels are going in everywhere and pricing is competitive. Some newer small boutique hotels have ocean views, included breakfast and new bikes. Getting 2 separate rooms in a newer place is probably a better value.
