About this cabin rental

Welcome Home to Cozy Cabin in Estes Park! Originally built in 1935 as a summer bunk house for farm hands, it is surrounded by original farm buildings now turned to residences: farm house, barn, chicken coop, and tool shed.

Cozy Cabin retains its old world mountain charm with restored original hardwood floors, cedar wall accents, and split log siding. The updated family and couple's retreat has all modern conveniences necessary for a comfortable stay including a new kitchen, bathroom and energy efficient windows, one of which is a picture window allowing perfect views of the sunrise. Open year round, the heating units keep the cabin cozy even on chilly nights. Please plan to access the cabin with All/4 Wheel drive in the snowy months (November - May.)

Get away to this quiet retreat just steps away from Rocky Mountain National Park. Hike into Moraine Park or drive the 1.5 miles to the Visitor Center and South Beaver Meadows Entrance. Or shop the unique stores in quaint downtown Estes Park. In the evenings, relax under the pergola with a heater and 365 degree views of the mountains and watch for the family of deer that meanders through the property most days.

Looking for natural phenomenon travel? Spring brings calving season (elk, deer, bobcats, black bear) in and around RMNP. Summer is high season with all the hiking, trekking, rock climbing, family fun activities, horse back riding, Alpine sliding, driving Trail Ridge Road/Old Fall River Road... SOOO much to do! Autumn (Sept - Oct) is peak season to see the Aspen turn bright yellow as well as hear the Elk bugling. The Winter Holiday Season (November/December) offers one of the most quaint and premier shopping towns lit up with Holiday lights. And winter is perfect to get snowed in or to go sledding, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ice climbing, or our favorite, trekking the snow-packed trails with traction devices.

Ruth’s place had everything our family needed for a week’s stay. We didn’t utilize the kitchen for most meals but it is well stocked. The cabin is in a great location right near RMNP entrance and the YMCA camp. It was great being just a couple minutes outside of downtown Estes Park. Several mule deer were around the house throughout the week. The only downside to property for us was the lack of hangout space in the living room. The couch is big enough for three and there is a chair but we would have liked a bit more room. We did make use of the pergola area and we gone most of the daytime so it wasn’t that big of an issue. Thanks for sharing your cabin!!

Happy to find a wonderful place to call home base while hiking in Rocky Mountain NP. The location was close to many of the trailheads we used. Enjoyed watching deer walk by and bunnies nibbling on the ground and then sleeping under the car. We heard elk multiple times. The kitchen was more than adequate for the cooking of our meals. Ruth was fantastic to communicate with and shared many tips and tricks on visiting in the area.We would certainly stay here again if we find ourselves visiting RMNP for a second time.

This is our second stay in the cozy cabin and we anticipate continuing to book this cabin annually if possible. The location is near the park entrance where we can go in and out without driving through town, the property is clean, communication from host is exceptional. Ruth (host) is exceptional at communicating with guests not only in regards to the cabin itself but additional information on area conditions and need to know information such as park passes. We can't wait to come back. 🙂
