About this apartment rental
As with any metropole, Paris is a city composed of neighborhoods, called 'quartiers'. They each have their charm and personality. Matignon Terrace is located in the prestigious 8th Arrondissement, the heart of the capital. Our neighborhood is famous for its elegance, luxury and security. It includes within its borders the Elysées Palace, home of the country’s president (a two block walk from the apartment.) It is a short ten minute walk to Avenue Montaigne, or the Champs Elysées, which many consider as being the most beautiful avenue in the world.
What a pleasure to walk out of the door and have the elegance of Paris at one’s feet!
The apartment is located on the Faubourg Saint Honoré, the home of the great fashion brands - the flagship stores of Hermès, Channel, Cartier, Saint Laurent, Gucci, Prada, Lanvin, Valentino, the Place Vendôme with its prestigious purveyors of jewelry.
Matignon Terrace, is just across the street from the luxurious, six star 'palace', the Bristol Hotel. It is a large, comfortable space, equipped with essential conveniences, at a fraction of the Bristol's stiff prices. Of course, nothing prevents a visitor from crossing the street to have a drink at their bar, or a meal at one of their celebrated, Michelin-rated restaurants.
The interior of Faubourg Terrace Modern was designed by Christian Biecher, one of France’s leading architects - and the talent he lavished on every detail is evident everywhere. The apartment was featured in World of Interiors, Marie Claire, Architectural Digest, and a host of other specialized publications.
On the first floor above street level (in an elevator-equipped building), one is greeted by a salon with large windows opening onto a terrace. The exterior walls of the apartment are made of translucent glass. The concealed track-lighting is controlled by dimmers. A small efficiency kitchen contains a microwave oven, an induction stove top, a dishwasher. A Miele washer and dryer are provided for the guest’s laundry needs. The bathroom has a large shower booth, à l’italienne. The master bedroom offers a large, flat screen, high definition television with a fiber optic connection (which also means high-speed wifi connections) as well as a seating area, a modern, centralized stereo system, with built in ceiling speakers, brings sound to each room. A smaller bedroom offers modular twin beds, that can be joined together if needed. The apartment is furnished with several, comfortable, leather armchairs and a leather couch.

The apartment is in a great location - I loved looking out the bedroom window at the hustle and bustle of the Bristol Hotel - which has a taxi stand - so helpful for getting to the airport. The owner was very communicative and helpful. The enchanting terrace makes the living room feel quite large even though it wasn't warm enough to spend much time out there. The master bedroom is very comfortable.

Exactly as described. Great location, clean and efficient. Essential kitchen for light meal prep, coffee and general needs. We walked to many, many historical places, shopping and restaurants. Host communication is thorough and timely. Hec was quick to respond and helpful. I would stay here again or recommend to friends.

JP communicated well at the beginning, but we had a need that he never responded to later in our stay.
Pros: The location is pretty good. It's a bit of a hike to the subway, but I felt safe, and the neighborhood is pretty. The unit is a comfortable size. It was nice to have a washer and dryer.
Cons: The unit is a good size but has a few odd things. ALL of the light switches are by the front door, and they control multiple rooms at a time. For instance, if I wanted to turn on my bedroom light, I would also be turning on the light in the second bedroom. The unit was obviously a studio or office, so the lights were set up for ONE room. There is one small trash can, and it is located in the kitchen. The entire unit is sparingly supplied- no shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. We didn't even have hand soap, but JP brought us some when requested. He didn't, however, bring toilet paper, which we ran out of pretty quickly. We had to buy our own. The sheets and towels are mismatched and threadbare.
Overall, the place just needed a soft touch- basic necessities like trashcans, nice linens, soaps and shampoo, bathmats, etc.
