Swim off your private dock, water ski or fish for trout and bass, ride horses, explore the nearby trails of the Smokey Mountains, Joyce Kilmer Park or the Appalachian Trail. This remote home offers fabulous lake views from almost all rooms, a gourmet eat-in kitchen, 2 master bedrooms, 2 guest rooms, 2 large living areas, 3 fireplaces, 3 outside wood decks, a sun/office room and a library room.

Overall, the view from the house of the lake and the mountains was amazing. It was quite lovely to be able to sit on the deck with your morning coffee and enjoy the quiet peacefulness of that view. However, the house itself could use some updating and intensive cleaning/pressure washing. Also, it would have been beneficial to have some kind of area information to inform us of restaurants, shopping, hiking, water recreation available in the area. We loved that there was a dock to use to swim in the lake with the kids each day, but it really would have been nice to have some kayaks or canoes that came with the house. If the house had come with area information, we might have also known to reserve kayaks/canoes several days in advance from the local marina as when we figured out where to rent from, they had extremely limited availability. I just felt like you were here for the outside experience and what was available with the house in that regard just seemed lacking if you want your guests to really be able to experience the NC lake vacation. There were alot of bugs and cobwebs all around the property; both inside (bottom floor) and out. My daughter-in-law was stung by a wasp while in bed in the top floor bedroom. The deck itself just needed some overall repair work as wood was not in the best shape and we had to make sure everyone going out was wearing shoes to avoid any splinters or other injuries. We have stayed here for pir family vacation for the past 6 years. Owner and manager are always easy to get a hold of if needed, and quick to get issues resolved.

Terrific View, the home needs some attention, upper level toilet would not shut off when flushed, had to lift the tank lid and giggle the float. The oven display on the stove was hard to read especially the temperature for baking, the coffee maker was old and missing some parts. Some lights and switches did not work.
