If you are looking for a great place to get away with your family or friends, this is it! Our home is only steps from the white beaches and blue waters of the Gulf Shore, you will lose yourself in the luxury of this professionally decorated home.
Our non-smoking home is located on a quiet section of the beach and is removed from the hustle and bustle of the heavily-developed beach areas (no high-rise condos around you), but close enough to allow quick access to golf, nature trails, family activities, shopping (including Outlets), and a variety of restaurants.
With plenty of space for all guests, the living area features two full-size sofas and five comfortable chairs, with views of the gulf (or a television, if you prefer). The living space also features a wet bar with ice maker, and a conversation area with game table for your enjoyment. There is a large dining table that seats ten and fully-equipped kitchen with two dishwashers and a double oven.
There are a total of six bedrooms to accommodate you in comfort. Two bedrooms feature king-size beds and a gulf view complete with a balcony. Two additional bedrooms are well-appointed with queen-size beds. Another bedroom includes two twin beds. There is even a bedroom with two sets of bunk beds - one set of twin bunk beds and one set of full bunk beds (accommodating as many as six). The bunk room includes a TV.
Each bedroom has an adjoining bath and the home features two 'family suites' (two bedrooms connected by a bath). The second floor features a loft with TV. We have a high-speed cable internet connection with Wi-Fi. The loft allows two additional guests to sleep on the day bed and trundle bed.
Your outdoor spaces begin with our screened porch. We have a picnic table and a round table to help you enjoy your dining, card playing, and socializing in comfort. The next frontier is a private pool (only shared with our neighbor's home). The pool is surrounded by a deck with several chaise lounges to help you bask in the sun.
The only thing that stands between the pool and the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico is our dune walk. For your convenience, we have an outdoor shower between the dune walk and the pool. Your family can easily roam between our home, the refreshing swimming pool, the beautiful white beaches, and the clear blue gulf water.

We had a great time during our family vacation. I did not give this property all 5 stars because of a few things, first of all upon checking in we found empty beer cans under the bed downstairs and one full beer can under the dresser. We also found medications, nail files and old used hair brushes in some the drawers, and with a toddler in the house finding medications in the drawer was a little bit alarming since they thing everything is candy. I feel as though the housekeeping and cleanliness could have been a little better. We were also not informed that that all of the TV's in the house except for the one in the master bedroom and the living room downstairs were just monitors and there was no way of watching anything on them unless you brought your own fire stick or laptop to hook up to it. While that didn't bother us much it would have been nice to know prior to getting there so we could have planned for that. Also the top balcony is extremely unsturdy. It looks as though one of the main beams is cracked in half and the railing is very loose. There are also decking screws that are popping out of the deck around the pool. We found those with our bare feet right out side of the screened in porch. The lights to the screened in porch area also did not work so we were unable to enjoy that portion of the house after it was dark. The railing around the pool deck is also very unstable so do not lean on it trying to get a glimpse of the sunrise or sunsets.

This was our second stay at Rest Area West, and it was just as perfect as the first. The property is well suited to groups, and it includes extra touches such as multiple refrigerators and dishwashers, and the pool is always a welcome way to end a great day at the beach (which is mere steps away!). We will definitely be back.

We had an enjoyable visit to Fort Morgan. This location is out of the way, which has it benefits, and negatives. House interior was clean, kitchen was well stocked, minus pot mitts. Views were amazing, we saw dolphins, sharks, and sting rays. I did text, and talk with the owner after our stay, so some of the negatives I am going to mention may have been taken care of by now. The beach side patio door does not lock, at all, none of the 4 available grills were usable, a few of us tripped several times on the small step under the house, the vents were closed in the first floor bedroom & bathroom, (fortunately, no one got hurt standing on a chair opening them), 3 of us burned ourselves using the oven, and make sure to plan ahead when using the dryer as it takes 2 to 2 1/2 cycles. This side of the duplex offers very little for outdoor toys, but it is not advertised that they do. There also were not many board games, if any, for adults/teens to play on the beautiful dining room table. We had our own, as well as our own chess pieces to use on the chess table. If any of these things concern you, check with Justin regarding if any of these items have been taken care of before your stay.
