About this house rental
⸻
This is one of the rare homes where the beach feels effortlessly close. The Historic Reed House, built in 1916, offers a premier oceanfront setting with uninterrupted views of the Pacific and miles of open shoreline just steps away.
Walk outside and you’re moments from the sand—easy, direct access to Manzanita Beach and everything that makes this stretch of coastline so special.
Inside, the home has been thoughtfully updated to bring in light, comfort, and expansive views while preserving its historic character. Large windows frame the coastline, and multiple living spaces make it easy for groups to gather while still having room to spread out.
The kitchen and dining areas are designed for connection—ideal for shared meals, long conversations, and time together after a day at the beach. Whether it’s morning coffee with the ocean in front of you or dinner as the sun sets, the setting is always part of the experience.
Living spaces offer a warm, relaxed feel with ocean views throughout. On cooler days, light a fire and settle in while watching the waves roll in—one of the simple pleasures of staying along the oceanfront in Manzanita.
Bedrooms are comfortable and flexible, making this home a great fit for multi-generational groups, family gatherings, or friends traveling together. Several rooms take full advantage of the ocean-facing setting, offering that “wake up to the beach” experience guests love.
Throughout the home, you’ll find a blend of historic charm and modern comfort—preserving the feel of a classic coastal cottage while providing the quality expected in a premium Manzanita stay.
Outside is where this home really shines. The fire pit sits just above the beach, creating a natural gathering place with open sky, ocean air, and the soothing sound of the Pacific ocean. It’s the kind of setting people come to Manzanita for—and one that’s increasingly rare this close to the sand.
If you’re looking for a Manzanita rental with true oceanfront views and easy beach access just steps away, the Historic Reed House delivers that experience in a way few homes can.
This is also a pet-friendly Manzanita rental, so your dog can enjoy the beach right alongside you.

**A FEW HELPFUL NOTES BEFORE YOU BOOK
We like to keep things clear and easy—especially since VRBO doesn’t always make policies obvious.
RENTAL AGREEMENT
During booking, you’ll be shown our Rental Agreement outlining policies, house details, and expectations. Feel free to review and reach out with any questions before confirming your stay. You will be required to sign our Rental Agreement before your stay. By booking your stay, you will have agreed to the VRBO and Rental Agreement policies.
PETS
Dogs are welcome. Just include the number of pets when booking so we can get everything set up. A per-pet fee applies. If pets aren’t included at booking, we’ll follow up to add them.
CANCELLATION POLICIES
VRBO may show this property as “No Refund,” but that’s a platform limitation. Most stays include a full refund up to 90 days before arrival, but it is seasonal. Our busy summer season has the strictest cancellation policy. These policies are noted in our Rental Agreement, which you will be shown before booking. Please reach out anytime if you’d like details before booking.
OCCUPANCY
This Historical house sleeps up to 14 adults and 3 minors 12yo and younger. Three pets maximum. Six (6) cars maximum. No RVs, Campers, Trailers, etc. allowed. This is mandated by the County. Contact us with questions or exception requestS.
SCHEDULING
Fridays and Saturdays are typically booked together unless arranged ahead of time.
A QUICK NOTE ABOUT THE COAST
Photos reflect a moment in time, but the Oregon Coast is always changing—sand levels, vegetation, and even how the beach looks can shift with the seasons and tides. That’s part of what makes this stretch of coastline so special.
