Nestling in the foothills of Exmoor National Park on a working farm, The Farmhouse (UKC1339) and Bridge House (UKC1340) are two thoughtfully converted houses in this wonderful part of Devon, keeping authentic structure with internal steps and multi surfaces contributing to its charm. Combe View (ref UKC3157) is a stunning first-floor apartment-style accommodation. Thoughtfully converted using timber from the surrounding forest, this really is somewhere a little bit special. All properties offer guests a comfortable base ideal for families or small groups, and a welcome pack is waiting for you on arrival with a homemade cake, bread, butter, tea, coffee, sugar and milk.

A private sitting-out area awaits alongside large, well-maintained gardens with countryside views. Walks can be had from the farm up onto Exmoor (a designated International Dark Sky Reserve), taking you through woods, along valleys, by rivers and past lakes. A variety of wildlife can be seen, from wild red deer to kingfishers. On the estate, there are two spring-fed lakes; populated with wild brown trout where you can try your hand at fishing. Access is by foot or by 4x4 vehicle as they are both located along farm tracks unsuitable for cars.

The village of North Molton, a short drive away, has a good local pub and a community shop and cafe. The larger town of South Molton has a wide range of shops and local amenities.

Withypool and the ancient Tarr Steps are both highlights on the moor. Climb to Exmoor’s highest point at Dunkery Beacon, then pop into the Dulverton for an afternoon cream tea. In Lynton and Lynmouth there is plenty to see and do, with the two towns being connected by the funicular cliff railway, or visit the Valley of the Rocks, with access to the Southwest Coast Path.

Head up to Woolacombe, Putborough, Croyde and Saunton for a seaside adventure, offering some of the best beaches in the country with surfing and rock pooling. Exmoor Zoo, Combe Martin Wildlife Park and Watermouth Castle all provide an interesting and entertaining day out. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knighthayes.

The property was exceptional in terms of location, size and cleanliness. We had lovely evenings playing snooker and chatting on the patio. It was only a 30 minute drive to the beautiful Devonshire coast.

Abosolute treat to stay in the beautiful retreat ! Pleasant warm welcome with fresh baked scones (with clotted cream and jam) and brownies on arrival courtesy of Donna, they we delicious ! The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you’ll need to cook a feast. Two comfortable living rooms with fires, furnished beautifully giving you a real homely feel. The pool table was the boys dream (4 husbands in tow) and kept them well entertained for the entire weekend, whilst the ladies set the world to right around the fire with a gin cocktail. With 8 adults in the party every bedroom was occupied, again furnished in style, beautifully presented and perfectly clean. Two bathrooms upstairs plus an ensuite and a downstairs shower/toilet meant there were no queues for the facilities ! Each cottage came with a “dog” box full of towels, sadly we left our pooches behind but will certainly consider taking them next time. I wouldn’t hesitate booking this farmhouse again. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and found the hosts to be very welcoming and helpful. You are in the midst of Exmoor and surrounded by beauty, Perfect stay.

This was our second visit to the beautiful farmhouse. We were a family of 8 visiting for a Christmas break. We all had a relaxed break, the location of the farmhouse is gorgeous with absolutely stunning views. We have definitely found our happy place here and will most definitely be back for another visit. Thank you to Donna and Adam for making us feel so welcome once again :-)

Such a spacious and comfortable house! We (two families including four older teenage boys) have just returned from spending New Year at The Farmhouse. We had such a great time. The boys loved the snooker table, the grown-ups enjoyed the big woodburner. It is very close to Exmoor so makes a great location for long walks. We entirely self-catered and the kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the mince pies and clotted cream that were included in the welcome pack. The house had been really tastefully decorated for Christmas too, which we all appreciated.
