Directly opposite Sandown’s popular sandy beach and offering superb far reaching sea views, this delightful terraced Victorian former coastguard’s cottage is one of a row of similar properties set back from the road which leads to the town in one direction and Bembridge in the other, with local buses stopping close to the property. Having been refurbished, Culver Cottage offers comfortable and homely family accommodation. There is a sun room to the front of the holiday property, which is also ideal for storing beach kit or bikes. Sandown is well known for its seaside entertainment, including a zoo (where Tiger Island is filmed), amusement arcades, and outdoor fun such as putting, trampolines, crazy golf, as well as a leisure centre with indoor pool and various pubs and restaurants along the seafront. Scenic walks can be enjoyed along cliff-top paths, and much of the coastline is designated Heritage status. Also for the outdoor enthusiast, try watersports, golf, riding, fishing, hang-gliding, sailing or birdwatching. Other places of interest include Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, the rock formations of The Needles, Blackgang Chine, Robin Hill Adventure Park, the Garlic Farm, the Donkey sanctuary, Amazon World, the steam railway, Flamingo Park, Falconry centre, Dinosaur Museum, Pearl Centre and butterfly park. There are many hidden coves dotted around the island, or why not enjoy a cream tea at one of the various tea rooms located in the historic villages of Godshill, Old Shanklin or Brighstone. This cottage is perfectly situated with wonderful sea views from 2 bedrooms, the living area and the front garden. Unlike other holiday cottages this one is very well equipped there will be nothing to need that isn’t already provided to cook any meal you require. White goods include a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. This owner has thought of everything to make your stay a pleasant one. Out door tap at the front of the property to wash of your sandy feet. Patio furniture, even 3 sets of keys and a key box. I highly recommend a stay here, the only thing to be mindful of if 7 adults is there is only one bathroom but again it is equipped with both a bath and a good quality shower. I would definitely stay here again. Re parking have a chat with the owner prior to booking a permit as we didn’t need one. Parking from 6 pm - 10 am is only 1 pound. Book it you won’t regret it. Pictures don’t do it justice, great bolt hole.

Culver Cottage is excellently placed opposite the beach, with shops within walking distance. The cottage is clean with quality bedding and towels. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need and an abundance of crockery and glasses. The living room is comfortable and the conservatory at the front means that all sandy items can be left there. The only downside is the one bathroom; an additional toilet would be an improvement.
