Red squirrels visit the garden, checking for food on the bird table, and can be seen from the cottage. The traditional bustling market town of Hawes is just over a mile away and enjoys a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants together with the Hawes Creamery, famous for ‘Wallace and Gromit’s’ favourite Wensleydale cheese. Shop and restaurant 1¼ miles, pub ½ mile.
