Just minutes from the historic town of Grand Lake and the 415 square miles of Rocky Mtn National Park, this property offers the ultimate retreat for those seeking scenic beauty and activities suited to all ages and abilities.
Nestled among the aspen and lodge pole pines, the Lakehouse in the Woods sits on a rise overlooking Shadow Mtn Lake, Grand Lake and Mt Baldy. This beautiful cabin with its spacious wrap-around deck, was built in 2007, and offers an exceptional open design and upscale craftsmanship throughout.
Inside you'll have plenty of room to relax and spread out. The great room offers comfortable leather furniture, a flat screen TV with satellite and streaming, and huge natural stone wood-burning fireplace. The open kitchen has a large quartz island that seats 7, with views of the surrounding lakes and woods. There are 4 bathrooms, plenty of soap and towels, and a laundry room to use if needed. The tiled front entry has a full bench and plenty of hooks to hang jackets and recreational gear.
We have kayaks, and a stand up paddle board for rent during your stay. Let us know if you're interested in more information.

- Non-smoking home and property.
- Limit of 8 persons.
- No pets allowed. Please don't ask.
- No events, parties or large gatherings.
*Note: This home is NOT a party house location. We have local property managers who will ask you to leave if found having parties, or more cars or guests than our permit allows. This home is ideal for family and friend getaway trips.
- House is not child safe or child proof - no children under 13.
- Exterior cameras are used to verify that the rules about pets, 8 person limit, and parties are followed.
* Note - Off Season Rates (mid-October through May) reflect a 6 person occupancy and the 5 bed bunk room is locked and inaccessible, leaving three separate king bedrooms. This allows us to offer the house at a lower rate for smaller groups. Additional guests allowed (using the bunk room) for an additional fee.
*Note - Road to house is short and steep. Incline to driveway is generally snow packed in the winter even though it's plowed. It is recommended to have 4-wheel drive during winter month stays. Without 4-wheel drive, you may not make it up the driveway in winter.

The views of the lake were wonderful. Access to RMNP was close and easy. Downtown Grand Lake provides a little of everything. The property was just the right size for our group of seven.

Wow! Beautiful home, well laid out, several living areas on each floor. Kitchen well stocked and all appliance worked great. Great communication with the hosts from check-in to check-out. View from the large porch was beautiful in the morning facing east and beautiful at sunset too. Enjoyed the town of Grand Lakes too.
