About this cabin rental

You will just love this lakefront home nestled in the trees on the South Shore of Grand Lake. With the National Forest and National Park literally across the street, watch out for wildlife. Deer, Elk, Moose, Bears, Foxes, Geese and other birds, any of these animals could be found right outside! The lakefront is a short walk down from the cabin and includes a large grassy yard along the lake, something that is quite rare in Grand Lake. The shoreline is shallow and sandy with gradual depth, perfect for kids to play & swim in safety. The dock extends out for boats, with a water depth of about 4 or 5 feet at the end. This home includes a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a study and a loft area, wireless Internet, a wood burning stove, and a gas fireplace. Adjacent to the kitchen & dining area is a screened-in porch with a dining or game table, the hot tub, and the gas chiminea. There is a large deck that runs on two sides of the home with a gas grill. The main living space is an open concept which combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The separate main floor lounge provides a space for kids or adults to watch TV or work in privacy. There is plenty of parking for trailers with boats or snowmobiles. With beautiful quality, a peaceful setting, national forest access, lake frontage, there's not much more you could want! Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. ** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. House was perfect for a home base for mountain rides to RMNP and fishing along the Colorado River out east. Lake front was quiet and relaxing. Home had everything we needed to cook dinner after we got back each night, and was able to catch the football games my dad wanted to watch via being hooked up to dish. Even saw a few deer out front. Would definitely stay again.

Our gracious hosts knocked it out of the park! Clean, well maintained, well stocked, while still feeling homey. Did I mention the lakefront and dock?! Location is perfect. I hope to return.

This place was a disappointment, unfortunately. When we arrived, the living room, kitchen, and enclosed patio was covered with dog hair. To the credit of the management team, they apologized and got someone out the next day to do another cleaning.However, the most disappointing aspect of the house was also the reason we chose it: the supposed waterfront. The description says that there are "some steps," which is incredibly misleading. In reality, there are over 30 narrow, steep steps with terrible landscaping, making it a pain to go back and forth between the house. The waterfront was also not as shown in the pictures. Rather than a well maintained yard, the grass was up to my knees in some parts (I'm 6'1), and the rest of it was just tamped down, rather than mowed. All of the seats were covered in bird poop (which, I get it, they're outside, they're gonna get pooped on, but it looked like it had been some time since they'd been cleaned or even wiped). I also take issue with how the management company asked for a review. The automated text said, "if you enjoyed your stay, we encourage you to provide a review. Otherwise, we ask that you contact us about any issues you may have experienced prior to posting a review." Please, don't ask me to lie.
