The property was in a nice neighborhood, and the walk to town was not far but very downhill and uphill for older people, so we opted to drive at night. The property owners were nice and provided information we needed. This is an old house with character but could use some improvements in the upstairs bathroom which had the tub tucked under the eaves, making it difficult to shower. Granted, it is an older home, but some improvements like better lighting in the bedrooms and bathroom and installing some electric outlets in the bedrooms would make the house more user friendly. We loved our time in Hood River and found this unit worked out fine for our short stay.

This rental was an ideal home base for our first time visiting Hood River. The location was close to downtown but on a quiet street. The deck with beautiful views was perfect for dinner each night. The kitchen was fully stocked and easy to use for cooking. The house setup worked great for us as two adults and an infant. Hope to stay here again on our next trip to HR!

Property owner was always very helpful and quick to respond. House is clean and neat, kitchen has everything possibly needed. Beautiful view of river and mountains, especially from the outside deck. Plenty of bedding and towels. Single full bath is nice size. Half bath is conveniently downstairs on main floor. Only a quick 5 minute drive the towns main kite/windsurf beach. We look forward to returning! Thank you.

The house was in a great location just above downtown a short walk to shops and restaurants. Great view of the Columbia River in a quite neighborhood. The only complaints are they need to turn up the hot water (only good for 1/2 of a shower) and could use some better cookingpans. Otherwise a great place we would definitely rent again. First and foremost, I would say the owners are excellent to work with. We came to Hood River for a special event and needed a place to accommodate five for the night. We contacted multiple houses on late notice and the owners of Blue Sky Cottage were the only one that got back to us promptly. They made the entire experience pleasant as they very easy to deal with and were very responsive throughout the rental process. The house was clean, well kept and stocked with the necessities - and not to mention the view was really nice! We found the location to be ideal as our group walked down the hill and were right in the heart of downtown for dinner. I would recommend this house to those looking for a nice, comfortable, convenient and affordable place to stay in Hood River!

I really loved the location of this house. It was up on the hill so had a great view of the river, and also really close to downtown. It was a 5 min or so walk to all the restaurants and shops of downtown. It's quite a steep hike back up to the house though, so make sure you're ready for it! The house is cute and very well stocked with everything you'd need. My only complaint is the house is very old so of course it is squeaky and creaky. All the floors and doors upstairs were pretty loud. I'm sure this wouldn't even really be a problem in a house with adults but with my baby sleeping in the next room I cringed every time I turned a door handle or walked to the bathroom. Not a deal breaker though, and just something that comes along with the charm of older homes.

We had a very enjoyable stay. House was clean, cosy, comfortable. Nice new washer + dryer and sharp knives for cooking! Close to the centre of town and great views of the Event Site to check wind conditions. Can definitely recommend and would stay here again.

This was a great little house! Our family of 5 adults enjoyed the location, and the view of river. Everything was just what we expected :), the kitchen has everything you need to cook every night - which we did including grill Salmon outside. Washer and dryer was a great plus!! :) One funny point the upstairs shower is kind of a tricky thing - but again, we are used to travel, camping and hiking so it was all a-ok! The beds were comfortable, and everything was in working order. We had the windows wide open every day, while we were there during the wild fires, we could see the smoke in the gorge but not so much smell it in town. We walked into town and explored - downhill from cottage, takes less than 5 minutes, I suggest the winery tour, however the walk back might be a tad harder up hill. n. I suggest white water rafting at Wet Planet - fabulous ask for Katie or John, and do not get potato salad at Full Sail brewery is it terrible - lol Go to White Salmon across the bridge and visit the shops, the antique store is great!! Chips has some amazing photos of interest on the walls if you are into WWll memorabilia. One funny point the upstairs shower is kind of a tricky thing - but again, we are used to travel, camping and hiking so it was all a-ok! The home is well maintained and apparently the owners take great pride in the property. Owners were very responsive to all questions and concerns and seemed to be lovely people. Colors inside the house were peaceful and happy colors - over all we really liked this place and plan to come back next year!!

I stayed here with two co-workers for 4-nights while working in Hood River. We chose to try a house rental instead of a motel so we could be closer to the downtown area and be in a more relaxed and comfortable setting. This house worked just fine for that. We loved the porch and swing with the great river view. It was a perfect place to relax and unwind. There was plenty of sitting in the living room and the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/utensils. The place does have a TV - but no TV channels. It worked great for watching the DVD movies that we went down to the Wal-Mart and bought. The place also does have AC, one window unit in the kitchen/dining area. While this cooled that area down nicely, the upstairs got pretty toasty in the afternoons (we had some 90+ degree days during out stay). The evening breeze and cooler temps at night made sleeping with the windows open perfect. The place was clean and well maintained. I would stay here again.
