Colonel's Cottage is a charming and extremely spacious five-bedroom, 4.5-bath home set in Bald Heads lush Maritime Forest. Step onto the welcoming wraparound front porch and into this traditional floor-plan home. You are immediately delighted by the gleaming hardwood floors and elegantly-appointed open floor-plan layout. The living room area features comfortable seating with a decorative fireplace and myriads of windows. The adjacent dining area is anchored by a table that comfortably provides room for eight but can accommodate ten. Check out the shell chandelier-it is stunning! Beyond the dining area is the breakfast bar with seating for four. The adjacent gourmet kitchen features granite counters, stainless appliances and plenty of prep space that will accommodate multiple chefs. Just steps away is the screen porch which furnishes another gathering area and an additional dining option. Finally, beyond that is a serene patio with yet another table for alfresco feasts.
The King Owner's suite, located on the main level, is perfect for folks who want privacy but wish to minimize steps. This house was a perfect fit for 2 families of 4 staying together, being very spacious and clean. We all loved the two living areas and the large kitchen! Many meals eaten outside on the back deck, watching deer walk by and the painted buntings come to the feeder! Always special memories formed in Bald Head, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We stayed for a week in Mid August. The house was spacious, beautiful, comfotable, and had everything our family could possibly need. I also want to highlight Wendy Wilmot---when we needed information about the Garage Access code or questions about the island WWP was responsive and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I, along with our 2 sons and their families just had a fabulous stay on BHI. The house was great and suited our needs perfectly. Loved having the two golf carts. If there was a negative it was only that the bed in the beautiful master bedroom was too big for my husband to get into! This was one of the best houses we have stayed in. Exactly as advertised.

The home was nicer than we expected from the pictures and was a good floor plan for our family. We enjoyed the porches and second living area. We would have liked to have had more towels in the unit and the brakes on one of the golf carts were not good at all. Overall it’s a nice rental in the forest with lovely porches and plenty of bikes for the whole family. The property is in need of a good power washing and some unsafe boards sticking up in the walkway outside, but we are mindful that it’s an island that has recently weathered a storm and repairs may be behind a little.
