Rocka-Waves Retreat is a 3 bedroom 1 & 1/2 bath home that sleeps 9 total, 8 adults/kids in beds, (plus a pack n play travel crib to add a baby/toddler) Located in the heart of Rockaway Beach just half a block to the Ocean! Ocean views from upstairs & peek-a-boo views from downstairs bedroom & back deck!
Rocka-waves Retreat is one of the original homes in Rockaway beach built in 1918 that has been updated & remodeled & features a fully fenced front yard for the kiddos & pups to play in. There are front & back decks, a fully stocked kitchen, free high speed WiFi, Smart TV (Amazon fireTV) with Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Video, Youtube, HGTV, NBC, ABC, Bravo, TLC, CNN apps live TV channels & more plus a DVD player with lots of great DVD's for all ages. The back deck has a Charcoal Grill, Solo Stove Firepit, chairs, beach toys & driveway with parking for 3 cars plus unlimited street parking in front & back.
The Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals, bake a cake & have s'more's. It features a full size oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, mixer, dishes, pots, pans, cake & cupcake pans, s'more forks, serving platters etc. There is a full size washer & dryer too! The house has a great layout...if you have loved ones that are not good with stairs there is a bedroom with queen bed (sleeps 2) & full bathroom on the main floor. The primary bedroom upstairs has a King bed (sleeps 2) with mountain & town view & connected to the half bathroom. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds & a Queen sized bed (sleeps 4 total), cute children's decor & toys, Ocean View & also connected to the half bathroom that has lots of storage space for everyone's toiletries. There is also a Pack n Play crib with sheets in the house. Bring your dog or dogs with you! (Pet Fee $25 per dog per stay)
We are 1 street off the ocean on the West side of HWY 101! From the back deck (Pacific street) walk a half a block to the right and you are at the Wayside which is the large round parking lot in the heart of town with public Beach access, a Pirate Ship playground, Train caboose w/Tourist info and the Train depot for the Oregon Scenic Railroad steam train which is dog friendly! Go a half block to left & you are at another public beach entrance next to the Silver Sands motel. Walk to Rockaway's shops, restaurants, bars & markets.
Rockaway Beach features 7 miles of beautiful sandy beach and is known for the Twin Rocks formation. There is so much to do in here and the surrounding area! There are lots of great shops, 2 ice cream parlors, bars & restaurants including The Original Pronto Pup with the largest corndog on the roof and a mechanical corndog you can ride! Did you know Rockaway Beach was the birthplace to the corndog aka Pronto pup? Rockaway Beach is also the stop for the Oregon Scenic Railroad which travels from Garabaldi to Rockaway Beach 3 times a day in the Summer and weekends during the off season. They also have dinner trains , the Fall Splendor train and Candy Cane Express during December with Santa. You can visit the Cedar Old Growth Nature Preserve in Rockaway to see one of the biggest western red cedars and take a walk in the woods! Rockaway is also home to Lake Lytle which is a 65 acre lake with water that is warm enough to swim in during the summer and is stocked with rainbow trout and large mouth bass for the anglers in your group. You can kayak and use small boats on the lake.
 The fishing village of Garibaldi is only five miles south, where you can pick up some fresh seafood at the Garibaldi Marina,  get some hot fish and chips or dine at one of our faves Garabaldi Portside Bistro & Crabrock Pizza.
Tillamook is home to the Famous Tillamook Cheese Factory that hosts tours and has a great restaurant featuring all their dairy goodness including ice cream! Tillamook is also home to the Blue Heron Cheese company which is known for their different types of Brie cheese. This is a fun stop for the whole family because they have wine tasting, a petting zoo with alpacas, peacocks, goats & more, cheese tasting , great outdoor seating where you can order a nice lunch to eat while the kiddos & dogs enjoy the outside and a great store with lots of gifts & such. To the north of Rockaway Beach is Wheeler, Nehalem and Manzanita. Just 8 miles north of the house is the Nehalem Bay Winery where you can do some wine tasting year round and enjoy some live music outside during the summer.
