This rental property was an excellent choice for us. Great experience from start to finish. Owner was very accommodating and provides a great deal of information regarding restaurants and surrounding area. Another perk was having Netflix to watch in the evening!!! Property is located in a residential area which is certainly a plus. No worries when booking this property.

From the moment we arrived and met Lisa we immediately felt at home. Lisa is so accommodating and the most willing to assist manager/host that we have ever had with a VRBO property. But first the apartment. This apartment is gorgeously decorated but not stuffy. The views and outdoor areas are so amazing. We could not have been more comfortable in the apartment and a lot of that was due to our hostess. The beds are very comfortable and then linens are plush. We took advantage of the free passes to the beach club and had a very relaxing morning. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. It’s a little bit of a walk to town, but its very easy and very enjoyable. There are taxi companies available if you are too full like we were to walk back after dinner. Ascona is a beautiful place and very relaxed. Now Lisa.... she went above and beyond what any host has ever done for us in all the VRBo’s we have ever rented. She is a great resource for things to do and see in the area. Use her! Our only regret was that we did not stay longer in this beautiful place but we will be back and we will stay here again. Thank you again Lisa!

This apartment is phenomenal and was the perfect spot for the start of my family’s European vacation. Lisa, the owner, was so helpful and responsive and gave us great advice on restaurants and sights around town. The Lido passes were much appreciated and my kids could have stayed at the “beach” all day (we stayed about 4 hours). There is literally nothing this apartment is missing and can’t wait to stay here again (hopefully for a week next time). Everything is great.

We were 2 couples and truly enjoyed our 3-night stay in Ascona, thanks to our host Lisa who was so warm and full of special attention towards us! From her responsive communication before our arrival and throughout our stay, to her warm personality, and to her great touring suggestions, Lisa was simply the perfect host! Her very well appointed penthouse is located in a quiet section of Ascona within walking distance of the lakeside restaurants, is decorated with taste, and has it’s own private elevator. A real gem! We will keep precious memories of our stay in Ascona and highly recommend Lisa’s penthouse!

Just like a dream

Just like a dream

I don't think there is enough space to write how much I loved this apartment. The second you walk in, you are transported to a dream. Lisa's tasteful decor makes you feel like you are in a 5 star hotel with gorgeous bedding/cozy beds and everything you would need for a perfect meal in the kitchen. There is a living room with plenty of couches to lounge on and read one many books she has in her library. But we spent most of our time sitting on the wrap around patio, which has a lounging area, and a separate dining area, which we sat at for every meal including sunrise with a cup of coffee. The views are spectacular and the temperature was perfect, so it’s hard to rip yourself away. But if you do Lisa will advise you on the perfect plans, which for us included a boat trip to a food market in Italy, where we bought lots of delicious foods and wines and took it back to our patio for daily dinners watching the sunset. I HIGHLY recommend this apartment, and promise you will feel the same way I do, counting down the days when you can return.

We spent 6 days in this wonderful penthouse. It is even more beautiful than on the pictures. All the rooms are very comfortable and so are all the furniture on the terrace, the bathroom are filled with shampoo, conditioner, lotion and more. You will find everything you need to cook and serve a fancy dinner and finish with a Nespresso... what else could you wish for ?! The location is perfect for walking to the lake or into town and there are so many places to visit on a day trip. We enjoyed Ronco, Corripo, Lugano, Bellinzona and more. And to make our stay perfect Lisa and Frits were the best hosts, they made sure we had everything we needed and we felt very welcome. We hope to be back some day. Thanks Lisa !

This exquisite penthouse apartment was true to the fantastic pictures and description in the listing. On top of that, our host, Lisa, offered a warm and very supportive welcome and made certain we had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. While the property is only a few blocks from the beach and golf and a few more blocks from Ascona's center, we found ourselves more than happy to spend several lazy mornings at the apartment, enjoying the view of the mountains and the comfort of our surroundings. Lisa made many great recommendations for restaurants and day trips. She also made available to us beach chairs, beach towels and a washer and dryer in addition to a host of other amenities that made for a great stay. If only every rental were this comfortable, beautiful, convenient and came with such a great host!

If you are reading this then you are already close to having an amazing experience in Ascona. Look no further - Lisa's luxury penthouse is simply fabulous. Gorgeously furnished with impeccable taste, this apartment is truly wonderful. Lisa has the knack of making you feel special from the moment she meets you. The wrap around balcony with views over the mountains and even a glimpse of the lake is heavenly. Sipping a chilled glass of sauvignon blanc on the terrace just after we arrived, we congratulated ourselves on finding such a special place, so different from the anonymity of a hotel room. This was our introduction to vacation rentals and it will be a hard act to follow. Thanks so much Lisa - we will definitely be back. June 2015

My wife and I were in town for a golf tournament and we feel very fortunate to have discovered this fabulous Ascona apartment. We cannot praise it enough - it was extremely comfortable, light & spacious, full of top-quality/luxury furnishings and very clean. Also amazingly private as you are the only residents occupying the entire top floor - this is a true penthouse with keyed elevator and rooftop terrace. We invited golf friends over for a drink one evening (thank you Lisa for the delicious champagne!) and they were impressed and envious of our luxury accommodations. We all agreed that this rental was an excellent value considering the high level of quality, comfort, hospitality (Lisa was the most welcoming and thoughtful host we've come across) and the prime location next to the golf course and beach, not to mention walking distance to the center (no car needed for everything Ascona offers). Many local hotel rooms demand a much higher nightly rate and can't come close to what you get here - this must be the best deal in Switzerland... We will be recommending this marvelous apartment to all of our friends and colleagues and we genuinely look forward to returning ourselves many times in the future, and hopefully improving our golf handicap with each visit!

My husband and I were here at the lovely "Penthouse San Cristoforo" for just a weekend and we wished that we could have stayed longer - we enjoyed the experience immensely, from start to finish. The apartment is absolutely lovely - beautifully appointed, sparkling clean, and oh so comfortable. There is a wonderful spacious feeling to the home with its open floor plan, endless windows and grand terrace. The owner Lisa provided so many delightful 'extra's' that we needed for nothing and felt quite spoiled - her attention to our needs and her warm hospitality was truly exceptional. We adore Ascona and are already planning our next visit so that we can enjoy this very special property yet again. We encourage you to try it yourself - you will not be disappointed! Very highly recommended...

Having visited many different destinations in Europe over the years, all of them special and memorable in their own way, I have to say that our week at this lovely apartment, in this charming town of Ascona, was the best experience we’ve had by far. The apartment is a dream. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, wonderful views and thoughtfully equipped with every amenity you might need. We can’t say enough good things about the quality and comfort of this home. The owner, Lisa, went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy and comfortable. She is great to communicate with, clearly cares about her guests and their overall experience and is committed to anticipating every need and responding to every question with enthusiasm and professionalism. Honestly, every luxury hotel could learn from her example. Last but not least, the location is ideal - everything is close by yet the apartment is on pretty neighborhood street just a half block from Ascona’s private beach (another great amenity: Lisa provides her guests with her own “locals’ pass” so entrance to the beach is free) Ascona’s beautiful lakefront boulevard with all its quaint trattorias and many other charms is only a 15 minute walk along a lovely pathway. Ascona is heaven for foodies with several world-class restaurants - if you are celebrating a special occasion we must encourage you to try the incredibly romantic outdoor restaurant ‘Cortile Leone’ at The Hotel Castello del Sole - Lisa recommended this enchanted spot and its excellent sommelier, Mario, and she did not steer us wrong - one of our best meals ever. We are a couple in our 40’s and even though it was just the two of us this apartment is an exceptional value. We loved our time here and can’t wait to return someday. We highly recommend this exceptional property!

We stayed at this apartment for 2 nights and had the most wonderful time. The apartment is very cozy and tastefully decorated. Well stocked kitchen. Fresh fruits, fresh bread and champagne were nice touches. The bedrooms and the bathrooms were very comfortable. The apartment is at a walking distance to the water front and the shops and restaurants there are wonderful. Love the view from the terrace and it was wonderful to sit out there with a cup of coffee early in the morning! The owner Lisa is a wonderful host. She accommodated us in spite of having a family emergency and took care of all our needs. Her recommendations for restaurants and things to do were wonderful. Lisa gave us directions to the walking trails and our dog enjoyed the walk around the beach and the fields. We had a rejuvenating vacation and will be back for sure :)

We cannot find adequate words to express just how delighted were were to have found this wonderful property. We wanted to find a special and romantic place to celebrate our wedding anniversary (we were married here in Ascona many years ago) and we couldn’t believe our luck when we arrived at this gorgeous penthouse apartment filled with every comfort. We felt instantly ‘at home’. The whole property is incredibly quiet, peaceful and private. The kitchen is fully equipped with much more than the typical ‘basics’ - this does not feel like a rental property, more like you are staying at the luxurious home of a good friend. The furnishings are elegant and comfortable and everything is spotless and in excellent condition. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Lisa, and she treated us like royalty. There are too many special details to mention here, but suffice it to say that Lisa goes out of her way to provide every comfort you could possibly desire. She even had a special gift awaiting us on the day of our anniversary - it made the day even more memorable. We were lucky with the weather during our visit and therefore able to truly enjoy the outdoor terrace which is one of the many luxuries offered here. You are sitting above the treetops, surrounded by the mountains and blue sky. The sparkling water of Lago Maggiore is just at the end of the street. As former residents of Ascona we know the area very well and this apartment is in an ideal location for just about everything. Close enough to the piazza to easily walk there but far enough away that you are not bothered by the summer tourist crowds. Everything you need is within walking distance, and even easier with bikes - we rented bikes at a friendly nearby shop just 5 minutes away (yet another detail that Lisa kindly arranged for us). Our particular favorite stroll was to the charming little bakery up the street by the old airfield where we went every morning to pick up a fresh loaf of bread and, when we were feeling indulgent, a slice or two of their delicious apple cake. Our entire stay created a memory that we will cherish. We highly recommend this apartment and plan to return again.

This apartment exceeded all of our expectations. My husband and I spent a week here and enjoyed every moment. The comfort and quality of the home, the breathtaking beauty of Ascona and the Lago Maggiore region and the the excellent care and service we received from the owner all combined to create the perfect holiday. First, the apartment: we felt like we were staying at a 5-star hotel...it is private, peaceful and beautifully furnished with the perfect balance of luxury and warmth. The living room and bedrooms are filled with sunshine all day long. The kitchen is a chef's dream and is full of complimentary treats (fresh fruit, coffee, tea, mineral water, even a complimentary bottle of champagne!). The bedrooms and bathrooms are well-designed and extremely comfortable. The amenities throughout the home are too many to mention - you will really find absolutely everything you might possibly need for a relaxing vacation. The enormous wrap-around terrace is incredibly inviting and is accessible from almost every room in the home. We spent many pleasant hours out on the terrace with our morning coffees and evening drinks gazing at scenes of the snow-capped mountains and enjoyed some spectacular sunsets. Second, the location: it could not be more convenient. It is a leisurely walk into the enchanting village of Ascona. We fell in love with this charming town and its maze of cobblestone streets, cozy cafes, bakeries and boutiques, and it features one of the most romantic lakefront boulevards in Switzerland. The apartment is next door to a world-class golf course and two beautiful beaches are just at the end of the block. Everything is so conveniently close by - we walked to a bakery for fresh bread in the morning, to the center of Ascona for lunch at midday and to a fabulous grocery store (the Manor) in the afternoon to buy fresh fish and produce for a home-cooked dinner at the apartment. Beyond Ascona, we tried our best to visit all of the sites/destinations recommended by the owner ...the Verzasca Valley was a highlight (you must try the local cheese and salami plate at Grotto Redorto in Sonogno!) as was the colorful and bustling Italian Sunday market in Cannobio - and Isolabella is a must. Finally, we must mention Lisa, the owner, who was simply a joy to work with. She made everything pleasant and easy and seemed to anticipate our every need. We highly recommend her beautiful home as the perfect destination for a relaxed and rejuvenating retreat.
