This was our second consecutive stay at Mike's property, and again, no disappointments. This place checks all the boxes for us. It's secluded, cozy, quiet, and so very relaxing. Yet, as "out there" as you feel, you're just minutes from town and all its conveniences. Believe the descriptions in the listing. Trust the photos - they are not misleading. Absolutely beautiful. Mike is a great host and the property is well maintained and well stocked. You must bring your own linens and drinkable water which wasn't an issue. Effley falls pond in more of a lake with 6.8 miles of shoreline. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing and swimming. There's a small beach, a hidden dock which we loved to read and fish from. The fire pit is on the other side of the property and is well stocked with seasoned firewood. Bring lighter fluid. We use dry leaves and pine needles but lighter fluid would help it it's damp. The cabin is hidden from the lake and it's very quiet and peaceful. We had a great time. You won't go wrong renting from Mike.

You’ll realize it when you reach a point on Christmas Drive. It’s the point where the water starts peeking through the trees on your left, then on your right. And you realize that you’re heading to a special part of this point. The most special part, surrounded by a stunning lakefront.There’s a dock where you or your kids can jump off and reach a swimming platform, stars like you can’t believe overhead, and plenty of wood to keep that outdoor firing going. Mike is probably the most responsive and (see title) class act host I’ve ever met. We ran into an issue completely outside of his control, and he took ownership of it and took care of us. He’ll give advice on finding bald eagles and fishing tips, and is a genuine and good person. Thank you and we look forward to returning.
