We stayed here for 3 nights with friends while kayaking the local rivers and enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well stocked. Interior was comfortable and sufficient for 4 adults and had everything we needed for our stay. The exterior could use some minor maintenance (lawn needed mowed, some of the outside lights were broken and not all the jets worked in the hot tub) but overall the property is nice and suited our needs. Location is nice as it provides some seclusion while still being relatively close to local attractions and the larger towns in the area.

Host's were very responsive, all information very clear. Amenities as described, cottage very clean and well decorated with outdoor theme's. Terrific location for skiing (or golf) at Crystal Mountain, just minutes away. Big snowstorm blew in while we stayed and the cottage remained warm and cozy!

Only negatives about our stay were the insects. Everything else was adequate, and I would have rated the property a 4, but I'm giving it a 2 due to our experience with bugs on site. Property had wasp nests under both the front porch and the deck. My husband was stung on our second day. We saw the owner doing lawn care later that same morning and mentioned the wasp nest. Owner said he would spray while we were out for the day. No further communication from owner as to what if any steps had been taken. We stayed an additional few days, no sign of decreased wasp activity. On our fourth morning, my husband got stung a second time. Both times he was simply using the front door stairs. Property has a hot tub, but we were deterred from using it due to the amount of insects we could see, and the wasp nests. Inside, we found several small black spiders, and many spider/cob webs in the corners of closets and rooms. One of our group members woke up with spider bites on his back after using an extra blanket from the closet. Unfortunately our encounters with the insects overshadowed the otherwise adequate level of the property.
