About this bed and breakfast
Enjoy the best view in Carlsbad! Our open floor plan and generous living space is flooded with light and transitions through two sliding doors to an expansive private deck. Enjoy our beautiful lagoon views and the perfect 180 degree sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
We're 5 minutes from Carlsbad Village, where you'll find a perfect blend of hip and quaint beach town shops and dining. Or we're just 10 minutes from Legoland California and the Carlsbad Premium Outlets; 45 min to Sea World and San Diego!
*NOTE* Smoking and pets are prohibited on the property. Late check in available. Door code and Wi-Fi password supplied upon booking a reservation. Check in time is typically 3 PM, and checkout by 11 AM.
Front of House
The home is at the end of a quiet neighborhood street in Olde Carlsbad. There is ample space for 2 cars tandem parked on the left side of the driveway (not blocking garage), and enter through the gate on the left. Your Carlsbad Retreat residence is above the garage.
Large Back Deck
Enjoy the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Buena Vista Lagoon from the comfort of the private deck. We have matches for you to light the fire pit (provide your own wood) and enjoy the evening under twinkling deck lights and stars. Use the BBQ on the lower deck to grill up your favorite veggies or meats.
Kitchen
The spacious kitchen is fully-stocked with plates, glasses, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen appliances. Stroll through the local Carlsbad farmers market (located on State Street every Wednesday evening), and pick up a few items to cook up a delicious meal. Or stock up the pantry at any of the several nearby grocery stores.
Living Room
Sink into the comfortable couch and feel the coastal breeze coming through the huge double sliding doors and windows. The calm beach decor puts you in the mindset of an endless summer for your Carlsbad vacation.
Bedroom
Catch up on some extra ZZZ’s in the queen-size bed and queen blow up. A pack-n-play crib is available if you’re bringing a little cherub on your trip. The bedroom is massive and has closet space, hangars, and a dresser. Two additional people can sleep on an air mattress in the bedroom or in the family room.
Bathroom
Clean up after a day at the beach in the shower or oversized tub.
Beach Gear
It’s easy to enjoy a day at one of Carlsbad’s many beautiful public beaches with beach chairs, umbrella, and towels provided. Ready to take on the waves? Skip the hassle and lines at a rental shop, and rent a Wavestorm surfboard directly from us for $10/day.

We spent a week in Carlsbad in a beginning of August 2019 and have a wonderful memories being there. The apartment is very specious and seperated from the main house. For a few days we didn't even know that the property owners family lived in the same house. As many reviewers pointed out, the place has a beautiful large bath tub which we enoyed after spending all day outdoors. Big bedroom was also a great plus allowing air to circulate better. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean, lagoon and sunsets....just as described in VRBO. Close to freeways, stores and most important - incredible beaches, either north or south.
In the last two days of our stay we met Kat and her 2 adorable children. She is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had such a good time apparently that we even lost track of time and forgot which day to check out. We hope to come back one day.
