We really enjoyed the great view from the lanai and the quiet location in the condo complex. The condo is spacious with a well-equipped kitchen. A few updates, especially to better match the furniture, would make it even better.

This condo was a really good value, and I would normally give my rating based on expectations, so I wouldn’t normally give anything less than 5 stars based on how much I paid, it was among the cheapest rentals on Maui. There are 2 reasons that I gave it only 4 stars: the bed was stiff, and the AC has a timer. So for me personally, those are big negatives. But if it weren’t for that I would have given a 5 star review. Here’s a list of pros and cons…Cons:The bed wasn’t comfortable. The AC is on a 4 hour timer, so you have to come home to a hot condo every day. The tv was too confusing for us to figure out, we never did get it to work. The parking isn’t close to the condo, so if you have a lot of stuff to carry in, it can take a while. You can hear everything going on outside the bedroom window, and I mean everything! I will say though that the complex is a pretty quiet complex, and we rarely heard anyone walk by, but the window doesn’t mask the noise. Pros:Right across from the beach! Great value! While the kitchen was limited to what it had, we did find that we had everything we needed, so basic cooking was easy. Beach chairs, body boards, umbrellas, and snorkel gear is included, though we did walk next door and rent snorkel gear from boss frogs since the snorkel gear was limited. Washer and dryer in the unit, pool was warm, hot tub was amazing! Plenty of parking. Close to shopping. Comfortable (except the bed). Overall I’d say this was a great rental. We had a great trip

We have stayed at Alii Kai for the 4th time now in 3 years. We have always stayed with the same owner in a different unit and it has always been fabulous. We were pleasantly surprised when we found a unit at the same complex. Although the decor was current and beds were comfortable, there was much to be desired. Cleanliness was a huge disappointment. There was a half eaten chip bag and wrappers underneath the masterbed. Most silverware was dirty with old food stuck to it land glasses were not cleaned well at all. Bath towels were “industrial”, obviously have not been changed in years and were very rough on the skin. Found many dead moths throughout the unit and a very large dead roach in front of the TV in the main room. Hot water in the shower takes a little while to get hot, and does not stay hot for very long. Definitely not enough for even two people to take a hot shower. Snorkeling gear provided needs to be replaced, for it does not work at all…it is old and out dated. Plan on either bringing your own or spending a few bucks on renting or buying your own.
