Many kinds of trails all around. In Maine’s finest hiking, hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking and boating territory. A perfect place for adventure, romance, celebration or serenity. An escape from the electronic world! But there is good cell/data service too. The cabin has solar and battery lights but no power or generator. Hand water pump in the kitchen during spring/summer/fall. 6 gallons of wash water provided in the winter. Spacious outhouse, solar shower, etc. (See Winter Conditions below). Glamping at its finest!

This is a cozy place with led lights & solar lights, candles, gas cook range, gas refrigerator, wood stove, a dug well with hand-pump in the kitchen (pump can not be used when the temperature is below freezing) and a log cabin outhouse.
King bed in bedroom; twin bunk beds and queen pull-out futon couch in great room

Fully outfitted with dishes, utensils, pots,/pans, linens/blankets/pillows, books, games, oil lanterns, camp/bag shower and more. Firewood is included in the rental price. Propane, paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap are also provided.
All Wheel Drive or 4WD is needed to access the cabin in winter and mud season.

WINTER CONDITIONS (when ground is frozen):
-4-wheel drive or All Wheel Drive needed.
-There is NO running water from the well pump when the ground is frozen. The sink can be used with a bucket underneath. Bring extra water for washing.
-Really big storms can cause reservations to be rescheduled
-Extreme Cold Weather: When temperatures fall to 15 degrees or below, use the propane heater in the bunk room with the woodstove in the great room. Feed the wood stove every couple of hours.
Snowmobilers! You may have to unload your machines at the bottom of the hill to get your trucks up the hill with trailers hitched. You could also leave your trailers at the bottom of the hill in a plowed out parking area. Ride the snowmobiles up separately.
-Shooting/Target practice is NO longer allowed due to lack of respect for safety by several sets of guests.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Off the grid = NO ELECTRICITY!
Reliable cell phone service is available
Hydration: You MUST bring your own drinking water to be absolutely safe. The dug well is fed by springs and runoff. Dug wells can be contaminated by heavy rains, and wildlife. Drinking the well water is at your own risk.
Bugs: Use bug spray and do tick checks twice a day during spring, summer and fall.
Dogs are welcome. NEVER leave dogs unattended outside or allow to run at large. Year-round neighbors live in the neighborhood. NEVER allow dogs to venture on the opposite side of Lamb Road or into neighbors' driveways. DO NOT leave dogs alone in the cabin. Please toss any waste deposited on the yard into the woods.
Cigarette smoking is allowed OUTSIDE the cabin. Cannabis smoking is allowed inside the cabin. Please do not clean smoking materials in the sink.
Trash: It would be appreciated if you took your own trash, but if that is not possible, you may leave all of your food garbage and trash in the cabin at check. Please NEVER leave trash outside.
Please do not feed wildlife or leave food outside.
Keep it down for the locals.

Had an overall wonderful 3 night stay! The cabin is super cute and cozy with everything you’d want for a weekend away. Everything was very clean, well kept, and stocked with necessities. It is off-grid so expect to put some work in to be comfortable (but that’s kind of the point haha). The fire was awesome and kept us very warm the whole time despite it being mid January. The host was very welcoming and friendly, she left lots of helpful instructions - great communication! Hopefully we’ll be able to come back in the future. If you’re interested in this type of experience, definitely go for it!

This was a very cute cabin but I don’t recommend it for anyone that is not comfortable or knowledgeable with wood stoves. It’s also a better spot for a summer or fall getaway, as opposed to the winter because it gets very cold when the fire goes down or out. There’s also not a ton of lighting inside the cabin, so bringing extra lights and flashlights is recommended, in addition to your own drinking water. Surprisingly, the outhouse is quite nice, although it’s a bit more challenging to use late at night when you have to leave the warmth of the cabin. The host communicated well with us and helped us works through issues when they came up. The bedroom has its own heating element which really saved the day and made it super cozy, and the king bed was very comfortable. There are lots of fun board games in the cabin and the location is very quiet and peaceful. There is no internet but I had good cell service so it wasn’t a problem.
