Very good

We loved the location of the house; we basically had a private beach. The surrounding area was quiet and relaxing. There aren't a ton of tourist activities (We found something to do each day), but if you are going to relax on the beach this is the place. There was plenty of space in the house for 5 of us and the pup. The house was clean, and some basic essentials were provided; small shampoo and conditioner, soap, dish washing tabs (2-3), laundry soap (2-3) and paper towels. There were also all the kitchen utensils you could need. There is a cooler you can use.

The toilet paper was not great. They large couch and the outside couch were both a little saggy. The GPS originally took us two doors down based off the coordinates provided in the email, but we figured it out. There were also a few running toilets and leaking faucets. It would have been great to have a few more items for the beach there like towels, chairs and toys.

Fantastic for families!

The layout of this home was perfect with kitchen, dining and living room with plenty of seats being in the center of the home, and four bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, spread out on either side of the central area. The mattresses were very high-quality and super soft and the back deck was unbeatable. This house has done a great job of putting out tons of seating and a picnic table so that you can truly enjoy the beautiful bay views that are just 100 yards away. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything that you would need to cook your meals and the location toward the west end of the island allowed for the sights and sounds of both the bay and the Gulf at all times. Our family group of nine was comfortable and we also had plenty of seating and even a television in every bedroom, which enable people to have time together when they wanted it but also space to do their own thing. Additionally, Vacasa was excellent about checking in on us to make sure we had everything that we needed and that our experience was going well.

The only negative that I could possibly say about this property was the fact that the grassy backyard is quite a little laying level which of course is going to often get wet and was quite the mosquito breeding ground. Obviously, if you’re heading to Alabama you might expect that you would see some mosquitoes, but there’s quite a high population of them between the house and the beach because of the marshy ground. It was nothing that a heavy dose of bug repellent couldn’t take care of, but definitely do be aware that what might appear to be a grassy backyard for the kids to play in and pictures probably won’t work out that way. This is literally the only thing that was not absolutely perfect about this property and again, after our first time out where we realize that we were absolutely covered in mosquitoes, we either went back to a little personal beach there covered in bug spray or simply chose to go to any of the other numerous public beaches available and had a great time.

Our first time to Dauphin Island and will definitely return.

The beach was wonderful. The house size was perfect. Very clean. Very quite and quaint. Very appreciative of the parking permits. Will definitely do it again. Perfect location.

We had a few hiccups with the house but maintenance was quick to fix except we never got a power cord for the cable box in one of the bedrooms.

Loved that the House was dog-friendly. It is so hard to find Beach Houses that accommodate pets.
