Cottage in France with Garden near Lake

Everything! We loved the location, with a railway line for my husband, and a lovely walk to the river and canal. Also 2 interesting towns 10 mins away. We enjoyed the quirkiness of the decor, especially the beautiful traditional kitchen. We loved the fresh clean bedding, and the piles of towels in the spacious bathroom. Best of all, the vine shaded veranda and the long garden with seats under shady trees. So peaceful and green, and with red squirrels and lizards to watch

The bed in the landing bedroom was a bit soft and we kept rolling into the middle! The chairs in the sitting room were small - no comfy sofas - but this didn't matter for us as we spent so much time outside. We went out and bought matches and a washing up bowl, before we found them! It would have been handy to have these necessities easy to find. But these are are all minor - the biggest drawback in temperatures of 30 deg, was that we had a fridge but no freezer for ice, ice cream or to chill our ice packs for the cool box.
