• HOW DO WE GET THERE FROM CANCUN AIRPORT? Playa is a 45-minute drive south of the airport. We provide a private van service for $185 round trip, max 8 people, child seats available. Other options: Taxi $70 one-way, Rental car, Hourly Express bus.
• WHERE IS THE PROPERTY? Luna is located in the heart of Playa’s main tourist district at Calle 6 and the beach, ½ block from Fifth Avenue. Fifth Avenue is a world famous, 40+-block pedestrian promenade with relaxed cafes and gourmet restaurants, exclusive lounges, and al fresco bars, intriguing boutiques and local purveyors of all types and variety.
• IS LUNA ENCANTADA TRULY BEACHFRONT? Yes and all the condos that we represent in Luna have stunning ocean views.

The reef off our shore offers excellent snorkeling conditions with a multitude of colorful coral formations and exotic fish and marine life but you will need to hire a snorkeling guide with a boat to get there. • DO WE NEED A CAR? Not necessarily because Playa is pedestrian friendly and we are close to everything. We typically walk or cab around town and rent a car on an as needed basis for regional excursions. We offer complimentary parking in our secure garage and have several car rental agencies within a few blocks.
• WHERE DO WE GROCERY SHOP? We have several small markets within one block and several full service grocery stores within 7 blocks.
• HOW OFTEN DO WE GET MAID SERVICE? We offer every other day house keeping that includes fresh linens, bath and beach towels, soap, shampoo, paper towels, bottled purified water, laundry detergent for the washer/dryer room, and trash removal.
• DO YOU HAVE TV, PHONE AND INTERNET SERVICE? We have cable TV, high speed wireless internet, and a phone with free long distance calling to the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Italy, France, Spain and Ireland.
• CAN YOU RECOMMEND ACTIVITIES AND RESTAURANTS? We visit Playa five times a year so we are constantly updating our list of favorite activities and restaurants that we send to all of our guests along with detailed arrival information.

It's hard to put into words just how amazing this property is because no matter how glowing the reviews were that we read in advance, we still weren't prepared for the incredible experience we had. The view of the beach, ocean and Cozumel off in the horizon was breathtaking. Being a block away from Quinta Avenida was very convenient as there were dozens of restaurants within a couple of blocks and even more if you venture further, which you'll definitely want to do. We walked to Walmart to buy coffee and snacks for the house, but we ate out for every meal.When we decided to do a day trip to Tulum and the cenotes, we walked a few blocks and rented a car for the day. The INTI Beach waiters come by every so often when you're lounging on the beach to take drink or food orders, so we took advantage of that as well as getting a couples massage in their outdoor loft. The security guards at the front entrance were always pleasant and Arturo was in the pool/beach area ready to assist with umbrellas, or just about anything you might need help with. We missed going to Cozumel due to the weather, but the ferry pier is an easy walk just a few blocks away.

We stayed 5 nights at Luna Encantada (D1) and loved it! The condo was beautiful, exactly as pictured, and absolutely perfect for our family.The views from our private terrace were STUNNING! We were literal steps from the pool and beach and from all the restaurants and shops. Everything was SO easy, which is HUGE when traveling with kids!! We never had trouble finding chairs by the pool or on the beach. One morning we had the pool to ourselves for hours! We ordered some drinks and dinner one night from the beach club next door and it was all delicious! Another day we had an easy walk on the beach to catch the ferry to Cozumel. We rented a car for our stay and the free on site garage was wonderful! The convenience of everything made our stay completely stress free. And everyone was so nice.
While we LOVED being steps away from the everything, I did not realize we were also steps away from a public beach entrance. This was really only noticeable in the evenings when our “private” beach became quite crowded. While the location of our condo could not be beat, this was the only drawback (and it was just a small one).
The only disappointment we had was the seaweed in the water. Of course that is no one’s fault, and there were clean up crews regularly working to remove the seaweed from the beach. I don’t mention this to dissuade you from booking this property, but definitely do some research on water conditions if you are wanting that clear, turquoise ocean swimming experience.

The condo is very nice and very convenient to the town and the beach. Unfortunately, the beach is unusable because the sargassum is piled up, rotting, and the methane and sulphide gas emitted is awful. They do try to clean it up daily, but it's a losing effort. Also, they pile up all they gathered 60 meters or so down the beach so even if they rake it up you're still smelling it constantly. The only way we were able to escape it was by taking the ferry (nearby) to Cozumel, or going to the cenotes. It's no fault of the owner, and we were there at a bad time, but unfortunately the property is at one of the worst places because of the current and tides. I wouldn't risk it again.
