About this house rental

Atlantic Beach, NC. Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this cedar shake, all-wood interior, fully furnished, 4 bedroom/ 4.5 bath beach house. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the others are furnished with a queen-sized bed, 2 twin beds and an extra large bedroom featuring 2 doubles. The house sleeps 8-10 comfortably. The indoor spaces feature original artwork, unique furnishings, and the kitchen is equipped with almost new appliances and cookware. Situated on the second row, the beach is just steps away. On the spacious front porch, guests can enjoy ocean views, cool breezes and lovely sunsets. And the best nap/ book reading in the world is to be found while lounging on the front porch hanging bed. There is also a large side screened porch, back deck & outdoor shower.

When not on the wide, soft sand beach (less than a three-minute walk), enjoy nearby attractions such as biking in various parts of Bogue Island, touring historic Fort Macon State Park, taking boat excursions (or your own boat) to Cape Lookout National Seashore and Lighthouse and other nearby islands, seeing weekly concerts at Fort Macon, visiting the colonial town of Beaufort and its waterfront scenery and restaurants, the NC Aquarium, and Morehead City restaurants and nightlife, savoring a Sunset drink at the bar located at the end of the nearby Oceana Fishing Pier which gives a panoramic view of the coastline, or water activities including kayaking, canoeing, and surfing.

The water remains warm enough for swimming well after Labor Day so consider a long-weekend as fall begins. In winter, enjoy seeing the sun set directly over the Atlantic Ocean due to the island's orientation along the coast and the location of the sun. A sight to see!

Fantastic host, property and experience!!

I actually wanted a house right on the water and from the picture that I saw the water. I assume that the house was directly on the water or not a roll of houses in between but because it rained the whole weekend I was there. It really didn’t matter. The house was beautiful. Everything was clean. I just wish I could have text the host instead of having to go on the verbal site and message every time I’m not computer savvy so it would take me a few minutes to get to the spot that I needed to message her.

Best in Atlantic Beach!

First, let me give credit where credit is due -- the house is beautiful and in a great location directly across from beach access. It's well appointed, is recently remodeled and shows just as depicted. We came for a family reunion after not seeing each other for almost a year, to celebrate my 50th birthday, and most importantly, to destress after an exceptionally stressful year. When the rental contract was sent and after we made the final payments the first RED FLAG this owner might be a problem came with a two-page list of rules, regulations, and chores including not to lower the a/c below 74 degrees or open the windows. There are Nest thermostats in the house and we suspect these were adjusted remotely when we lowered them to our tastes and not theirs. The house is also ostentatiously filled with pictures of the owner’s family and personal effects which I’ll admit was a bit odd. I was charged $50 for one of these personal items when a small clam plate broke because it had ‘sentimental value’ even though 1. It fell off the wall just from closing a door and 2. I found it on ebay for under $10. We also ran across an UNCOMFORTABLE amount of ROACHES, even one in a ‘clean’ coffee mug. I’m very aware that beaches and roaches go hand and hand but I saw more than a handful during our stay and they are obviously in the cabinets. The owner was notified but seemed to think this was normal. One of our guests also had to clean sand from the sheets of her ‘newly made’ bed. Also beware, you ARE BEING MONITORED. Before we booked, I asked if there was a place to launch our boat. The owner directed me to a marina across the street. When I was sent the original contract there was no mention of any boat restrictions so we bought a small fishing skiff which fit nicely in the paved driveway without issue. Afterwards, I was scolded by the owner for bringing it against their wishes (again, no mention in the original contract) reinforcing the fact that YOUR ACTIONS ARE BEING WATCHED FAIRLY CLOSELY. Way too much drama and stress for us; we will be looking elsewhere for our next rental.
